Round 1 ($1,000) - PHRASE
A MOTHER'S INTUITION solved by Janelle & Jeannine for $400 and the Free Spin (picked up with an M).
Gameplay Notes:
*Janelle & Jeannine hit BANKRUPT.
*Andreas & Chris did some work, but missed with a P.
Scores so far:
Janelle & Jeannine: $400
Andreas & Chris: $0
Robin & Laurel: $0
Pre-Round 2 Prize on the Wheel: dolphin sculpture worth $3,050 (marked "SCULPTURE" on the Wheel)
Round 2 ($3,500 and the $10,000 wedge added) - SAME NAME
Andreas & Chris control the entire round and solve NICOLAS & PARAKEET CAGE for $1,500.
Scores so far:
Janelle & Jeannine: $400
Andreas & Chris: $1,500
Robin & Laurel: $0
Round 3 ($5,000) - TITLE/AUTHOR
RIP VAN WINKLE BY WASHINGTON IRVING solved by Janelle & Jeannine for $21,750 (including $15,000 with an S and a pair of G's)!
Gameplay Note:
*Robin & Laurel hit a BANKRUPT and lost $550.
Scores so far:
Janelle & Jeannine: $22,150
Andreas & Chris: $1,500
Robin & Laurel: $0
Round 4 ($5,000) - OCCUPATION
After some regular gameplay, speed-up mode commences for $500 per consonant. Janelle & Jeannine solve HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER for $2,700.
Gameplay Notes:
*Janelle & Jeannine immediately hit LOSE A TURN and used their Free Spin to redeem themselves, but later missed with an L.
*Robin and Laurel cashed in $10,000 with a pair of S' right before the bell rang, but obviously didn't win any of it.
FINAL SCORES
Janelle & Jeannine: $24,850 (winners)
Andreas & Chris: $1,500
Robin & Laurel: goose-egged for parting gifts
Bonus Round
The prizes that Janelle & Jeannine could win besides $25,000 are:
*a Cadillac
*a cruise to Europe (and possibly around the world) on the Queen Elizabeth 2 worth $32,470 (I know this because it was won on 2/22/96 and I saw that episode)
*a GMC Jimmy
*a $20,000 annuity
Unfortunately, the bonus round was cut out on the episode copy I saw, but I know for a fact that Janelle and Jeannine did win the bonus round, calling CHDI and solving the puzzle EXHIBIT, and the prize they won was the $20,000 annuity (I know this because the episode was on Youtube at one point and the recap was on the old Sony forums)! Their one-day total is $44,850 and I think that there's a fairly good chance that they will be back on Friday for the Friday Finals!
