So as many of us know, Jeopardy's 30th anniversary season is just around the corner. This thread is about the changes we may see this upcoming season. I wonder if the theme music will receive a slight update; the 1984 theme got remixed with the bongos in 1992 and the 1997 theme got sped up in 2001.
Other changes I'd like to see:
- the globe intro returns
- Alex stands up for FJ!
- dollar figures popping in at the start of DJ!
- college championship goes back to being taped on a university campus
- set changing from blue to red for DJ! and FJ!
- ToC taped at a road venue
- college championship reunion tournament
So what do you guys think?

Has anyone heard if there will be a new set? They should bring back the Jeopardy logo to the set (those large letters).

Yes, there will be. I have a source that says there WILL be a new set for this season. I don't know much about this said set, but I do know a new one is coming. Stay tuned...

I can confirm this, along with the fact that the source is also one of the people who leaked the original date of the Season 30 million dollar win on Wheel the day that taped. No pictures yet.

No different than the N64 WOF game still having the S13-early S14 Wheel layouts... Or the newest games still having the green $700 and the Wild Card still there... Or the first TPIR Ludia game still being modeled after the late Barker era.  |

To be fair...the set didn't start appearing in episodes until that December, a month after the game's release.

The current set was put to use only 4 years ago, so I'm hoping this is just a rumor. As per Jeopardy! tradition, with the exception of Seasons 1 & 2, an entirely new set comes along every 5 to 7 years. I'm wondering if this new set will make its first appearance at the beginning of the new season or if it will be introduced in November (like the sushi bar and 2002-2009 sets making their first appearances in November 1996 and November 2002 respectively). Or I wonder if they'll do the same thing they did in Season 25 - the new set making its first appearance on the road and then being put permanently to use at the start of the following season (we all know this is the case with the current set - it made its first appearance at CES during Season 25 and was moved to Culver City for the start of Season 26). |

From what we have seen, it is set in stone that a new set is coming. It was also said by the source that they start filming S30 in August with this new set.

I am going to miss the current set by the time September comes around. I know Alex Trebek stopped walking through the doors, as well as standing next to the board for FINAL JEOPARDY! at the home base for seasons 28 & 29, & for not getting rid of that chair behind his podium or lectern or whatever that is in front of him, but it will always be my favorite set.

The sad part is it's been only four years since Jeopardy switched to a completely new set when we said goodbye to the 2002 set at the end of Season 25. When I first heard that Alex will retire in 2016, I thought the end of the current set's run will be at the end of Season 32, lasting as long as the previous one did but without any changes, and a new one wouldn't come along until Season 33 when a new host replaces Alex. |

I wonder if all the other sound effects (daily double, time's up, round over, and Final Jeopardy! category and clue reveal) will be changed next season; we had the board fill sound changed in Season 26 after the first 24 seasons using the familiar beeps and then getting rid of it altogether in Season 25.
