I already read over on the Wikipedia article for Jeopardy! tournaments that next season's tournament will be a Decades Tournament with a $1M top prize at stake; and the players will be organized by decade.
Well, we know where Ken Jennings fits in terms of decade, but the question is: Will they let him play again?
It would be a shame to not let him play again.

I know about the new set but I think they should going back to taping their college championship on a university campus plus possibly bringing back their classic board fill and the new dollar figures (J! Round: $400-$2,000 DJ! Round: $800-$4,000) and definitely their college championship reunion!

Speaking of the new set, I wonder if it'll have the same score displays as the current one; the grid set and sushi bar set both used the incandescent 7-segment displays on the contestant podiums. |

The first tapings of the new season are August 20-21 for anyone interested. Actually, the website now lists tapings for the 13th, so if not that, the first tapings are on the 12th. And the 30th anniversary season will begin on September 16th. Merged consecutive posts and fixed capitalization. Please try not to capitalize every word in a post unless they actually need it. |

I'm hoping there'll be a photo of the new set on the Facebook page soon; afterall, there were photos of the CES set when Jeopardy! filmed the ToC and Celebrity Jeopardy! in January 2009, and the Facebook page had a photo of the CES set the day they started taping Season 26.

I have a feeling the music package is going to stay the same this coming season. For one thing Wheel didn't change their music package when they celebrated their 30th year (they still had the opening theme from 2007 as well as the 2006 Happy Wheels). Another thing, the Jeopardy! music package usually gets overhauled within a little over a decade. The original music package for the current version of Jeopardy! lasted 13 full seasons with a minor change in 1992 when a bongo track was added to the main theme. The Jeopardy! music was completely overhauled at the start of Season 14 and lasted 11 seasons with two minor changes: one, the Think! being remixed to include the trumpet on the third week of Season 14; two; the main theme getting sped up and slightly rearranged in 2001. So I have a feeling the 2008 theme and think music are going to stay for the 30th Anniversary Season; already the current music package was revised shortly after the start of Season 25 when we had the main theme remixed to include guitar leads the entire way through and the think music remixed to de-emphasize the "dripping faucet".

Actually the 2001 package used two versions of the main theme. One of which had the electric guitars and saxophones and the other without them used. Watching a video from kIngskip98 on YouTube I found out the version without the guitar and saxophone leads was the same one used for road shows, that used the intro similar to the 1997 theme. The 2001 theme as we know was the one that used saxophone and guitar leads. Also there are Jeopardy! episodes from before 2005 that use the saxophone and guitar leads, such as the end credits of the 2002 college championship (before the metallic set debuted).

So I found no photos of the new Jeopardy! set for this coming season unlike 2009 when we saw a sneak peek at the CES set just as they were about to tape Celebrity Jeopardy! and the ToC in January; we saw more photos of the CES set on the Facebook page in late July just as they were taping Season 26.
For those of you who attended a Jeopardy! taping this month, what does the new set look like exactly?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. That is gorgeous. It looks like the same blue backdrop, but this is far more than a refresh, for sure. So, I guess the title card shown above is not correct, seeing as it doesn't match the monitor wall one bit. |
