Jeopardy! airs at 2:30 in Chicago, so the premiere just wrapped up. As we know already, except for the set, nothing major has changed. No spoilers, but there is one thing to watch for...
The globe is BACK!

I watched the premiere, but just the DJ! and FJ! rounds. The new set looks awesome in action, having a completely different feel than the CES set. However, it's rather disappointed that Alex didn't return to standing in front of the board when revealing the Final Jeopardy! clue; I hope he'll return to standing in front of the board when revealing the FJ! clue later this season.
It's awesome that the globe intro made a comeback but still no swooshing sound; hopefully the swooshing sound will return sometime later in the season (the swooshing sound was removed from the intro beginning November 11, 1996, the first episode using the sushi bar set; but it made a comeback about a month into Season 18 and lasted until the end of Season 24).

Sorry to bump the thread, but it seems that J! could cater to the tastes of its nostalgic fans for the upcoming Battle of the Decades tourney. Some photos on the BotD website, as well as the shots from this video, make it seem that the set backdrop will turn red for the DJ! round. Not sure if this is a permanent change for the ongoing 30th season (or even the rest of the tournament), but it's definitely a welcome one.
