[EDIT 7/9/13: Okay, so these have been merged. As the title says, feel free to post any Wheel dreams you've had in this thread.] Dan's first Wheel dream (posting this because I found what I typed out):I had a dream about two days ago in which I finally got to see the slate of Shopper's Bazaar...and it said "Pilot #1 of 10". Somehow, I then learned that Merv had indeed taped two weeks worth of Bazaar before finally realizing it didn't work. ...I have no idea, really. I mean, I think Bazaar was okay but it couldn't have sustained itself for too long had it actually sold. Besides, nobody would ever do ten pilots of a single show.

Well, I've heard of *5* pilots for one show being done (Match Game '90, with Bert Convy), shot as a week of shows...
(Yes, I know Ross Shafer did the series, but Convy did the pilots)

Being the big Wheel fan that I am, I've had my fair share of dreams when it comes to Wheel. For example, about a year or so ago, I dreamed that I was watching the first syndicated episode from 1983 (via the Merv Marathon I taped back in 2007) and I was watching the Wheel gradually change or perhaps evolve to the 1986 layout. Another I had about ten years ago was much more freaky. germanname.deviantart.com/art/Bizarre-1970s-Wheel-of-Fortune-102138628

^Ah yes, the FIFTEEN and FIFTY-FIVE dream. I remember seeing it when you first uploaded it. Looking at it again reminded me that Wheelgenius did his own version of it.

Dan's second Wheel dream (well...kinda): It was actually a small feature in a dream mainly about an alternate-universe version of The New Price Is Right (1972-73). During the course of the dream's events, I was given two issues of something like Game Show Magazine. One issue had an article about NBC (I think) making a "dramatic biography" film on Chuck Woolery...starring Jay Leno in a puffy white wig.
Putting aside the possibility of whether Leno could do a good Woolery (Jim Carrey and Brad Garrett are two examples of how to do this kind of movie very well with their takes on Andy Kaufman and Jackie Gleason, respectively), but the Wheel set appeared to be quite dark with most parts taken from Wheel 2000. The contestant nametags were also shown, resembling their 1970s fixed-length versions.

Dan's third Wheel dream:I wish there was a way to record your dreams for all to see, because then this would be pretty cool... Of course, we all know there's three Wheel pilots -- Shopper's Bazaar in '73, the two Edd Byrnes tapings in '74. But years ago, a guy named Danny Voisine (who, along with Daniel Rosen, brings disgrace to everyone named Dan, Danny, or Daniel) claimed to have a fourth pilot, taped November 30, 1974 with Jack Clark announcing. I say that to say this: ========== I had a dream last night where someone uploaded to YouTube, in two parts, the "Alan Thicke pilot" of Wheel. The description mentioned something about not wanting to get in trouble, so download the videos before the uploader edited out the music. Sadly, there was no opening (not sure if that was the uploader's doing) -- it began while Susan was introducing the players, who wore nametags more in line with the Ray Combs Family Feud. The set was decorated for Christmas, and there was apparently an $8,302 Christmas tree(?) on offer. After the announcer (Charlie? Jack?) described it, the camera zoomed out and the doors(!) came in and closed. Chuck and Susan were hosting, as you'd expect, but I didn't see much of the Wheel and only saw the puzzle board briefly, so don't ask about those. Based on all this, I was likely seeing the claimed-to-exist-by-Voisine 11/30/74 pilot; I knew it wasn't from the series because it didn't match the premiere at all (completely different players), it wasn't Christmas '75 (the video times totaled about 25 minutes rather than about 45-50, and the doors were ousted around June '75), and I was asking my mother and brother if they wanted to see "Pilot #4". (Of course, my mother was all "You're kidding!" when she saw the doors close. ) Probably the weirdest thing of all (other than a red-with-white-border website watermark on the video that I can't remember) was the presence of the late-1990s GSN logo in the bottom-right corner.

Do you recall if the set looked as cramped as the original '75 set looked? (Well, judging by the screencaps of the premiere on the Wiki, it looks cramped to me)... also, you called it "the Alan Thicke pilot", by that I presume you mean it used "Big Wheels" and the normal 1970s music package, correct?
ETA: I know you said you didn't see much about the Wheel, but did you see enough to know if Buy A Vowel, or any two-digit values were there?

The set might have been as small as the original '75 one, not sure -- it was definitely decorated for Christmas, like I said. The doors slid into place in a way that doesn't exactly match how the actual, real prop looked -- the Pilot #4 version seemed to be two halves (including frame) with several "layers" of doors, which I'd liken more to the Price Is Right style of "stacking" door pieces than of Let's Make A Deal. "Alan Thicke pilot" was what the uploader called it (albeit dated to 1978, but I'm pretty sure that was an error that would've been corrected had the dream continued). Given that, I'm guessing it used Thicke's music rather than Maynard Ferguson's. Don't remember anything about the Wheel, sorry. If it was supposed to be Pilot #4, though, the Wheel layouts would've likely been a mix of the Byrnes and Premiere ones, so Buy A Vowel and the two-digit values would've been there (but not anything like Skip Jour Turn, FIFTEEN, or FIFTY-FIVE ). Funnily enough, the $8,302 prize used a green chyron with dollar sign and...no comma, I think. It looked like something that wouldn't be out-of-place on a Christmas '85 episode.

The doors, judging by the premiere snapshots of them, they look like they'd split in layers like the TPIR doors (I can count 4 panels, in two layers... you mention in the timeline the doors consisting of a 10x5 array of transparent squares... going by that frame of reference, columns 1 and 10 are stationary, columns 2 & 3 as well as columns 8 & 9 are each their own panel, and columns 4 & 5 as well as columns 6 & 7 are each their own panel, and they'd split in the middle and separate like the Big Doors on TPIR)

Fair point, but I don't think the frame split in half like the Pilot #4 version did.

I think you're right there, since I can't find any visible seams on the January 1975 frame

No, the Christmas tree was the only thing I saw. Dan's fourth Wheel dream:My dream last night again involved rare-yet-nonexistent footage: in this case, a November-December 1975 Family Week with Pat filling in for Chuck. (And no, before anyone asks I don't remember anything else about the clip.)

What I remember is the last part of a current-era episode. I remember the speedup for sure (the speedup was PRETTY GOOD JAMMING), the third tossup and bonus round puzzles are iffy, but I think they were SWIMMING LESSONS and something like HAVE A GOOD TIME respectively, the latter of which I've used as the bonus round in a Wheel game off-site. A few notable things about this: - Despite the fact that I remember that the touch-monitor board was being used, I can't remember whether it had three or four lines.
- An invalid ring-in sounds the regular buzzer instead of being silent. The contestant at the yellow podium, after difficulty ringing in, plays around with the other player's signaling devices as a bit of self-deprecation for a bit before the speedup begins, then for some reason switches places with the blue contestant.
- The puzzle I remember for absolute sure is solved after the G's are called but before Vanna reveals both of them.
- The very end of the episode has scan lines as if being played back on a bad-quality VHS tape.
A bit annoyingly, I've had two false awakenings about booting up my computer so I could type this up. (A thread about Wheel dreams would be interesting if a mod wants to merge WarioSajak's thread with mine.)

I had a dream earlier this week that I got to go to some Season 31 Vegas tapings and the staff let me get an up-close look of the set before the audience started filling in. The Wheel and podiums were much smaller, and there was only one flipper which was away from the contestants. All I remember about the Wheel was that there were at least two $200 wedges, both blue (which I acknowledged to the staff with shock and they replied something like "Yes, $200 is back!", and that the green wedge next to the top value became $300, and there were much less pink and purple wedges, being replaced with more green and blue. I took several pictures of the whole Wheel. Later, just before the tapings were supposed to start, Jim Thornton calls my name over the PA system and says that the staff wanted me to leave for no apparent reason, and other audience members were booing me and saying "Shame on you!" as I walked out, even though I had no idea what for. I was forced to watch the tapings from behind a fence far from the stage in an area where other Vegas patrons were just walking around freely.
One of the more funnier dreams I've had was from a few months ago, where I was watching a first-run episode with a major mistake: the MDW was placed reverse-up over the pink $900. Eventually, a woman in the red position lands on the middle of the orange $800, but instead of calling a letter, starts arguing with Pat because she should have hit the MDW.

I've edited my previous posts to denote my individual dreams so it doesn't look like it was always one long thread. Also, I somehow forgot to mention this, but my dream on November 26-27, 2012 was also Wheel-related. As per my signature, the only thing I can remember is Pat throwing to commercial after a round by saying "We'll put another Wheelmobile wedge on the Wheel, and after that...we'll just smack each other around with it." Later, just before the tapings were supposed to start, Jim Thornton calls my name over the PA system and says that the staff wanted me to leave for no apparent reason, and other audience members were booing me and saying "Shame on you!" as I walked out, even though I had no idea what for. Well, at least "doing stuff for no apparent reason" is in-character for the staff. As for you getting thrown out, the only legit reason I can think of is that you took pictures of the Wheel, although that doesn't explain the Vegas audience acting like they did. I'm surprised the latter hasn't happened already. I'm guessing Friedman was yelling for the buzzer to go off during that mess, and then Karen or John said to him "Well, she does have a point."

I had a dream that I was on the show and solved the bonus puzzle LEAP OF FAITH even though the O was the only other letter I had up there besides RSTLNE. I notice they haven't used that as a bonus puzzle yet… hmm…

Had an interesting dream last night, regarding a classic.
I was on a Season 26-like episode of Wheel. The set was unusually dark, it was late in the season, and the only difference between the real Season 26 wheels and the ones in the dream I can remember is the red $700 already being in place. Anyway, the game played out (don't recall much of it) and during Round 2 or 3, I picked up the Free Spin, but I never used it and ultimately lost the game. After the show was over, I still had the Free Spin and went to return it, but the staff told me to keep it.
I then went to what I think is a poorly designed apartment and after viewing the token, I noticed a loose flap on the back of it. I pulled it over and there was a small hole for a plug. I placed some plugs into the hole until one worked. Then a voice sounded and gave out a history of the Free Spin. Nothing saying it would be retired however.
The next afternoon, I was watching television on a local affliate and the show I was viewing got pre-empted for a press conference. There was silence for ten minutes until one of the show's staff takes the podium and announces the Free Spin's retirement, along with a vowel price hike. After that happens, more silence.
The speaker then announces that vowels would now cost $1,250, but a new wedge would be introduced. There were only a few minutes available for questions and one of them related as to why the price hike is going to happen. Every other question was not related at all to Wheel of Fortune.
