I know it's a long way off yet, but I'm planning a viewing party for my episode on New Years Eve and would like to get ahold of some WOF prizes - key chains, pins, etc. like they had for sale outside the Las Vegas show. is there an online source to buy these goodies or are they available at the Culver City studio?
I would also welcome any ideas for WOF party games, snacks, ideas etc. I've already started plans for a mini wheel.

Julie, I've moved this to its own topic because I think this can bring up a lot of cool ideas and discussion. A party for watching your episode followed by a New Year's celebration. How cool is that?! As far as I know, the only place you can buy that stuff online is on eBay, so you probably won't find a lot of WOF prizes to give out. As for your party, I have lots of ideas... First of all, here's a Wheel layout for at least your mini Wheel. And for any logos that you may want to use for anything, here's the "straight" logo...and the "round" logo.If you need any other WOF images of any sort, please tell me and I (or someone else here) will be happy to give them to you. How about making blue WOF name tags for all your guests? You can print them out on sticker paper, cut them out, and leave them on a table for people to get. I can make them for you if you want. You can tell me all the names to use on them, or I can send you a template for you to type the names yourself. Of course, you can wear your real name tag. Do you have any device that can play WOF on a TV? (Wii, PS2, PS3, Roku, the WOF Plug-and-Play game) If so, what about a Wheel of Fortune tournament? Then the winner can compete against you in a final match. Have you considered a WOF cake? If so, see if you can go to a business that does "photo cakes" and give them the layout I linked above to print on top of a round cake. You can even put it on a lazy susan and cut the cake so that each of the 24 wedges is a slice and you can think of the green center circle as an "inner cake". How about making various wedge replicas out of colored posterboard or foamboard (or printing them off your computer if you don't need them so big) and decorating your party room with them? And don't forget the glitter. Here's a tip for when you all watch the show. Put closed-captioning on your TV so that everyone always knows what is being said whenever they cheer or something and the show's audio gets drowned out. And Julie, don't forget to take lots of pictures!

Wow, Julie, that is quite the way to spend New Year's Eve...a holiday viewing party! Mario has provided quite the springboard of ideas to get your planning underway for such the festive occasion, and I can imagine more ideas will roll in as time goes by. I will certainly add to the list if I think of anything original. Congrats again for making it to the show, and I look forward to seeing your episode!

Lots of great ideas! I did think about the cake, but the rest of those ideas are new to me.
I started making my WHEEL today using a lazy Susan from IKEA ( $7 ) and some dowels. I decided on 16 wedges because 24 would have been too thin on my 15" wheel. I will post pictures when it's finished. I haven't decided to make it like the wheel or make each space a prize wedge ( chocolate bar with custom wrapper of puzzle board made by me; party hat; WOF item; etc.). I'm thinking of giving out a prize every round that goes with the puzzle ( more like a gag gift).
I love the suggestion to turn on the captions! That would never have occurred to me.
We usually spend New Years playing games, so a PS3 tournament would fit right in. I'm also glad pizza is wheel shaped!
I have lots of time...please keep the ideas coming. I will post lots of pix!

I started making my WHEEL today using a lazy Susan from IKEA ( $7 ) and some dowels. Lol, I thought it said "IKEA ( $7 ) and some vowels." I'm thinking of giving out a prize every round that goes with the puzzle ( more like a gag gift). Perhaps the only time "Prize Puzzle" will stay true to its name I'm also glad pizza is wheel shaped! I'm not sure if it was someone on the boards or not, but I came across a photo of someone who used BBQ sauce to divide their pizza and put amounts on it. Would anyone else know if they came across the same photo? Also, since we're on the topic, a little bit of searching had me come across this.

Maybe you can hammer nails in it instead of dowels to help the Wheel accomodate 24 wedges better, but that's not a big deal if you're going to make it a "prize wheel". Either way, let me know whawt you want the Wheel to say and I can make a layout for you, whether it's prizes, or a 16-wedge show-based layout.

So glitter paper was on sale at Michaels this week. I made this mock bonus round envelopes for the party. If you are one of the guests who has one of these AND if I solve that puzzle on the show, you win a "special" prize that has something to do with the puzzle. "Special" meaning inexpensive and humorous in my case. If you have a card and I didn't get the solve on that puzzle, then you get to experience the same disappointment I felt . I think these will be on my Prize Wheel as one or more wedges. By the way, I have purposefully not shown how many of these I made so the suspense of how many rounds in the episode. You can see I also picked up some WOF swag on Ebay for the party. Not sure I will be able to part with the Pat Sajack keychain though.

Ah, Michaels. Great place. That's where I got all the stuff to make my "NY Wheel sign". Nice job on those envelopes (though they're actually gold with dark blue edges, not silver/green), and great idea for a game. That Wheel is coming along great, too! Did you make a flipper yet? By the way, I have purposefully not shown how many of these I made so the suspense of how many rounds in the episode. Great thinking. I would have done the same, too.

No flipper yet, but I brought home some scrap materials from work that I think will work. Maybe this weekend.... I'm also considering adding more dowels. The wedges are only taped down, I may decide to go with a true Wheel Layout and replace it. Decisions Decisions

Can you take the dowels out, though? If not, with 16 in already, you won't be able to evenly have 24 or 72 pegs. You can have 48, though, which could do as long as you don't have the Million Dollar Wedge, or you could even make it a Bonus Wheel, which does usee 48 pegs.

It's FINALLY December! Time to get back to planning my party. With that in mind, I sent an email to publicity at WOF yesterday with a picture request to possibly use in my invitations. They sent me back 2! I'll post one of them here and now. The other one, which is actually my favorite of the two, contains a SLIGHT spoiler. I'll run it by MarioGS and see if can be shown now or should wait till the show airs. I'm getting excited again!

At my party I had everyone guess how much they thought I had won, and I had a prize for the person who was closest. I also found a shirt online that said I'd like to buy a vowel. Enjoy your party! I remember having so much fun at mine!

Thanks! The only new things are lists...lots of lists. I have some ideas and have some Wheel swag on its way for prizes that I got through eBay and Craig's list. I will put up pictures of everything. Or a link to the pictures. There Meyer be a lot of them.

Is a guest list one of those lists? How about giving everyone some WOF name tag replicas to wear during the party? I'd gladly make some for you to print out if you give me the names.

Thank you! That would be awesome. I'll get you a list soon. So far I've just done word of mouth inviting. I'm going to put something up on Facebook this weekend and start to get an idea of who is coming.
I just got back from a Craig's List transaction where I got a Wheel tote bag, a hat, a keychain, a pen, a T-shirt, and a mini $1000 wedge autographed by Pat & Vanna for the great price of $14.00. Everything but the wedge will be a "prize" (plus some other things from Ebay) on my mini wheel. I'm going to give out the prize envelopes (If I solve a puzzle, who ever is holding the ticket with that round on it wins a related prize) via raffle tickets. That way I'm sure they will all be spoken for before the show starts.
I'm making little labels for the food out of green paper that say FOOD & DRINK at the bottom and will have white stickers with only the RSTLNE filled in for the name of the dish. I'm hoping to finish those tomorrow. I'll post a picture of those and of the garland/ sign I'm working on.
