Hey everybody! September is upon us, which means schools are getting back in session, fall weather is just around the corner (thank God, it's too bloody hot still here in the Midwest), and most importantly of all, hockey season is on its way! The 2013-14 NHL regular season starts one month from today, and I'm looking to see if we have any folks either here (or on GR, I hear there are some big fans over there as well) that might be willing to take part in a fantasy hockey league.
Let me say right now up front that this league would not be formally affiliated with either site, nor has it been endorsed in any official way by either staff. It's more of an informal thing, a chance for some of us to interact outside of Wheel discussion (or Price, in the case of any GR competitors) and maybe promote a little cross-site goodwill while we're at it. I've been toying with the idea since last season, but the lockout and subsequent loss of 34 games per team threw a pretty sizable wrench into doing anything that year.
The league has not yet been set up, primarily because I want to see if there is interest from enough people on either or both sites. If you think you might want to be a part of the league, please reply right here in the thread and let me know! Since this would be an informal thing and is still very much in its infancy, posting and showing interest is in NO WAY to be considered binding - I just want to see if there are enough willing players out there to make such an idea worth carrying out. If I hear a lot of positive feedback in the next week or two, then I will set up the league and we can go forward from there with whoever wants to be involved. If not, well, there's always next year.
