(N.B.: Please do not post any WOF stories in this thread. For WOF stories, please refer to this thread.) 2013 was a great year in game shows, as far as I'm concerned, and since there's a similar thread over on another forum, I thought I'd get the thoughts of the esteemed membership of this forum. What were, in your opinion, the biggest game show stories of this past year? I'll chime in with a few later on, but I want to hear yours first. Discuss.

Pay the fucking Rent was actually won. (Granted, they set it up pathetically easy, but still.)

The new Kids Week record of $66,600 being set, despite the fact that the media only cared about attacking Alex Trebek for the Emancipation Proclamation incident.

I guess they thought Alex was picking on the kid a little bit, but he had nothing to do with not accepting the answer. It was the judges' call.

Apparently nobody remembers that episode where the Beast got beaten by a single player for $125,000...then again, I've played said contestant at bar trivia out in California, so...
I'll expand that to say the American version of The Chase, as a whole. Never thought it'd see the light of day over here, we all thought GSN would screw it up, and it actually turns out to be one of the best shows to come out this year. Shows you what we know!
