Wheel Watchers Club #1 (Day 3)
I believe this is an extra episode, since there were two other weeks called “Wheel Watchers Club” and the third was the season finale week.
Toss-Up 1: Thing
S E C R E _
_ A N D S _ A _ E
I might do a SECRET HANDSHAKE with Larry after this game’s over, but for now let’s meet our contestants...
Larry Williams: A promotions company owner and aspiring actor who’s a Wheel Watchers Club member as well! He’s from Washington, DC
Gia Haio: A recent Eastern Illinois University graduate and senior recruiter in Chicago; she cut off 12 inches of her hair and donated it to Locks of Love (a charity that gives hair to kids who can’t grow it) (); she’s from Tinley Park, IL (originally from a town she always wanted to escape, Charleston, IL)
Robyn Pearcy: An executive assistant for a landscaping company who’s pregnant (!!!) and was expecting a baby 2 months after the taping; she has a boyfriend named Joe and is from Lomita, CA (near Los Angeles)
At the end of each interview, the audience claps. Nice.
Toss-Up 2: Living thing
_ U L _ _ _ R Y
T _ E E
She isn’t sure, but Robyn’s right with MULBERRY TREE.
Featured Prize: A $5,383 Ski.com trip to Aspen, CO
$10,000 Round: Places (PRIZE PUZZLE)
Robyn gets things going with a $600 R and $1,100 from two T’s. After buying an E and four A’s, she gets $1,800 from two S’s and $300 from an M. She next buys two O’s, picks up the Omaha Steaks gift tag with 3 N’s, and earns $300 from a P before clearing out the vowels with two I’s and U’s. Next up is another gift tag for her - one from Linens & Things - thanks to a C quartet...but then she Bankrupts near $600 to give up $2,850 and her cardboard. Doggone it. And yes, Pat has to take your stuff, Robyn. Larry lights up two L’s for $5,000...

...and with that amount, he can visit some SPECTACULAR VOLCANIC ISLANDS on his $6,775 trip to...CEBU IN THE PHILIPPINES?! I thought for sure it would be Hawaii, but it doesn’t matter...Larry’s earned $11,775 that round!
TRIP ID: SM06964
Bankrupt: Robyn
Robyn: $2,000 Toss-Up money
Larry: $12,775 cash and Philippines
Gia: $0, yet to spin
Centrum Silver Jackpot Round: Same name
Our big leader gets a $900 T and an E before missing with H on $450. Gia also duds out with S on $400. Hoping to make up for that big R1 Bankrupt, Robyn calls the first letter of her name (R), and there are two of them for $1,100. But after buying two A’s, she Bankrupts near $600 again. Larry calls another dud in G on $300. And Gia also duds out with N on $500, so it’s right back to Robyn. She gets a $900 L trio up there, but then calls a wrong letter of K on $600. Larry then duds out AGAIN on $300 with a Y. Gia picks up the Free Spin with double D’s and lights up two C’s for $600. She buys the I pair and lights up an $800 B twosome, but then she hits Lose a Turn, so she’s using her Free Spin. She buys an O...

...and gets a $100 bonus for solving BUFFALO & CREDIT CARD BILL. That round was just a NIGHTMARE.
Wrong Letters: H (Larry), S (Gia), G (Larry), N (Gia), K (Robyn), Y (Larry)
Bankrupt: Robyn
Lose a Turn: Gia, she used her FS
Unclaimed Jackpot: $10,000
Robyn: $2,000
Larry: $12,775
Gia: $1,000
Mystery Round: Phrase (it’s quite a big puzzle)
Gia calls a surprising dud of T on $600. Robyn lights up an R on the same wedge and 4 S’s for the Colorado trip. She also gets $900 from three N’s. After buying 4 A’s, she lights up an $800 D...before lighting up a whopping SEVEN E’s! No surprise, it’s a big puzzle. But then she duds out with M on the Mystery Wedge near $900; that could very well cost her $7,183 cash and trip. Larry gets SIX L’s on $300 and an H on $600 (he should’ve saved the L’s for this wedge, IMO) and buys an I before lighting up a $2,700 P trio and a $1,200 C pair...

...and PLEASE SILENCE ALL CELL PHONES AND PAGERS - this guy’s won another $6,050.
Wrong Letters: T (Gia), M (Robyn)
Robyn: $2,000
Larry: $18,825 (I keep thinking it’s $18,225 instead for some reason, don’t know why)
Gia: $1,000
Toss-Up 3: Fun & games
_ W I M M _ N G
_ A _ S
Gia guesses SWIMMING LAPS...correct, so she’s quadrupled up.
Round 4: Show biz
It’s a $1,300 Final Spin. And the wheel just slipped past $600.
Gia - 1 T
Robyn - 3 R’s
Larry - 1 N
Gia - 2 P’s
Robyn - 3 S’s
Does Robyn know it now with $7,800 on the line?

I’m afraid not. Larry lights up the L’s...

...but he can’t solve it either for $3,900. Gia lights up the M...

...and solves ELVIS PRESLEY IMPERSONATORS for another $5,200.
Robyn: $2,000 (talk about another case of fizzling out)
Larry: $18,825 cash and Philippines
Gia: $9,200
Bonus Round: Fun & games
Larry could win an Audi TT Convertible.
He didn’t bring anyone with him, but he lands on the single star.
RSTLNE only lights up an N:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ N _
WDGI are interesting (the audience laughed when he tried to pick a fourth consonant in C)...
_ I _ _ _ _ _ I N G
After missing with FIN- and FINNING, he amazingly solves KICKBOXING! Thanks to that KO...
...he’s won the Audi, worth $38,270! Larry even says “Give me my car!” Well, he’s got more than a car - his final total is $57,095 cash and prizes! Great job!
Oh, and Pat/Vanna tell us in the chat that since Larry won a great car, someone at home won a car too:
