January 1, 2014 recap

Wow! You all put a lot of effort into this show! I'm very impressed with your knowledge and commentary. I was the contestant that won on this day and it's absolutely true, Lucinda did forget her glasses in her Hotel room. Therefore, they found a WOF employee who had the same prescription as she did and provided her the glasses.

Let me first say that my expectations were VERY low coming into the game. We spent the entire day together prior to walking up on that stage and I knew that others were much better puzzle solvers than myself. Part of our day consisted of playing mock games. I was clearly in the bottom 10% of the 17 people there to tape (15 were contestants and 2 alternates). In addition, I was VERY nervous which took all of the excitement out of me. I really wish I could go back and have more fun on the show. I'm a very outgoing person and really hate that my personality didn't shine through. I'm happy that I did win the car, a trip and some money. However, I didn't get to fully enjoy the experience because I was so nervous. The contestant coordinators between rounds were trying to fire me up! I get it, it's a production and ratings to them but to us, it was the possibility of winning life-changing money. I was playing defense after winning the trip. It was then that I actually thought I could win and go to the bonus round. Some of the contestants that taped before and after us, were much more relaxed and confident. Unfortunately, I didn't relax until after the show was over. I go back and look at the video from time to time and kick myself for being so unemotional until the bonus round ended. I definitely wish I had done some things different...Thanks for your candid and honest comments!
