From Sony Pictures Studio, it's America's game! Welcome to the season premiere week, Endless Summer!
The season's first contestants:
Spencer Rice: Married, works for Oklahoma's largest soft drink bottler, does some radio for high school, Guthrie, OK
Brenda Ball: Out of law school for nine years, worked in film, originally from New Orleans, LA
Eric Larson: Married, also a lawyer, does a little gambling, San Diego, CA
The first top-dollar value of the season is $1,000, and the first puzzle of the season:
Perfection! Spencer solves RECEPTIONIST. Can he get good reception thanks to winning a $3,000 bonus?
With one second remaining, he blurts out MESSAGES.
This prize will be added to the Wheel: a Women Of Water surfing package (labeled SURF) worth $2,500.
Our first $2,500 and one-third $10,000 round of the season, and our second round of the season:
Eric solves THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JOHNNY CARSON to keep the SURF package. Maybe not for himself, though.
Our second prize on the Wheel is a trip to the St. James's club in Antigua (labeled ANTIGUA) worth $5,536.
We also have the $3,500 and Jackpot puzzle for the third round:
Perfection! Eric solves IT'S A BLESSING IN DISGUISE.
A third prize?
...maybe not. But a fourth round, and a $5,000 wedge! And how about a new category?
Spencer solves WOOD-BURNING FIREPLACE.
The premiere still has time for another round:
Coming from behind, Spencer solves THE MUPPETS! Aww, Pat didn't get to kick things off with a Final Spin!
Not much of a premiere for Brenda. She'll take home some nice parting gifts.
BONUS ROUND:
The first set of prizes available in Bonus Land is:
Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible (over $29,000)
Jeep Wrangler Sport and Kawasaki Jet Ski 1100 ZXI (over $31,000)
Trip to Puerto Rico ($15,000)
Honda CRV with tailgating necessities (over $18,000)
"The cash" ($25,000)
With things heating up, Spencer picks the first E. He'll try not to overheat from this puzzle:
RSTLNE gives him...
Spencer kicks off with CDMO:
Not too much of a premiere in Bonus Land either. Spencer does not solve BULLDOG...
...and can't kick off by taking home the $25,000. But he finishes with a healthy total of $11,100.
