What logos and bumpers from TV and the movies scared you as a kid? Here's a few of mine: - My least favorite logo as a kid was the "writing pad" version of the FHE logo—I found the beginning where the logo flips on-screen too grating for my liking. Most of my exposure to this was on my brother's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tapes. I couldn't bring myself to watch them until I was 11, and THEN only by fast-forwarding past the logo.
- The pre-2008 Vin Di Bona logo music is a VERY close second. It was pretty much the sole reason I didn't like America's Funniest Home Videos as a kid.
- Hoo boy. Disney. Where do I begin?
- I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with the 1989 Feature Presentation fanfare. (The zooming white-on-blue logos must have this to trip me, by the way.) I didn't find it as bad as the FHE logo, but it was still something I'd fast forward past. Was and still am a big fan of Disney anyway, though.
- The music from the gold WDHV logo.
- The distorted version of the Walt Disney Classics logo. (I do not find the other versions that bad.)
- Paramount's current closing TV logo can still do this depending on what's preceding it. It'll set me off if it's after something like Star Trek: Voyager since it's jolting, but after something like Star Trek: The Next Generation, where the music volume is fairly close, it's easier on me.
- For some strange reason, which is even stranger if you've been paying attention to what a lot of the above have in common, NOT the "cheesy shield" Warner Home Video logo (the one where "Warner Home Video" spins around while the shield flips in from the top).

The white-on-red FBI warnings before videos. White-on-green didn't bother me at all.

WNEM TV-5's logo in the early 90s used to scare me. You can see it at the bottom of the screen here:
When I was about 5, they would show that logo along with the day's lottery numbers on a chyron during Wheel, and I would turn my head away whenever it came up. I remember one time when I got up to go to the bathroom during Wheel, and walked straight out of the bathroom and into my mom's coat because the logo was on.

The Klasky-Csupo "robot" logo from 1998, seen at the end of shows like Rugrats, All Grown Up, Rocket Power, The Wild Thornberrys, and As Told By Ginger.

Truth be told, I actually had only one major fear which didn't really fit into these categories, and that can be summed up by one image:

Believe it or not, the GRIFFIN! I was mostly scared due to the version used on Jeopardy! with the blinking eyes, but I had an apparition that it looked much scarier than it did (with a blue background and a scarier monster as my fear grew). I would always change the channel as the consolation prize descriptions began. However, I noticed that I also was scared of the yellow background Griffin too on Wheel! I would walk out of the room as soon as the credits began and waited until I heard a commercial to feel that it would be safe again. This was from 1989 to around 1993 when the newer Griffin appeared.
The Group W Productions laser lights logo (when no theme song is played), Multimedia Entertainment (that early computer synth sound with the Tylenol-esque logo) and the Proctor & Gamble PPG logo (especially the long version played after soap operas) also gave me scares. At least I was smart to avoid reruns of classic shows that may have featured the V of Doom, Paramount Blue Mountain/Closet Killer, or S from Hell since before I discovered those after the fact I was sure to be scared of them!

I do remember those closing logos appear when the shows ended when I was a kid. I usually get scare when watching them, like Viacom or LBS. But out of all of logos I saw, the scariest one for me is Lorimar-Telepictures. Although the graphic was great for a time (back in 1986), the fireworks, black background, and the music give me nightmares.

When I was little, I was scared of the PBS P-Pals logo. Even at the age of 2, I could easily tell it was saying "This is PBS", so I knew it wasn't trying to be scary, but all I could see on TV was a really loud color blob. I now enjoy that logo and wish PBS had never gotten rid of it.
I was also scared of the THX and WGBH logos, because of their sudden music. Now I'm not scared of either one and I wonder why I was scared in the first place.
The first time I saw the MGM logo I quickly turned off the TV after being frightened by the lion's roar.

When I was younger, I used to be afraid of the Broadway Video and FHE logos (the latter not as much) on the 1993 VHS release of Frosty the Snowman. Other than that, I was a pretty brave kid when it came to scary logos.
