What's with all these women starting their rounds with the MDW Bankrupts? (no sexism intended) R2 was fast. I didn't know what the top row was even when you asked to solve. That MDW just doesn't want to go far anymore. I don't even remember the last time it went to the BR... And now we're back to the sexed up, but more distant PP's. I was expecting Alaska, but what a dumb adjective to use. Googling that only gets 9 results, 3 of which are WOF-related (but not this site? Somebody's got to fix things if we're not showing up on Google results...) I love how R4 was clearly intended to be one of those "It'll the end of the game and hopefully whoever solves it wins. That'll be cool, right?" puzzles, but thanks to Dan's quick play, the plan was foiled. Sick of people not knowing how the Wild Card works, though having it usable in the Speed-Up would be interesting, though probably a tad OP especially if the value is $6K. What an easy BR! I knew right away that you would already know it, Dan! I chanted "No 30! No 30!" before Pat opened the envelope. (Do you remember which space they preset the Bonus Wheel to, Dan? I'm like 90% sure it's the first A in AMERICA'S. Overall, great audience to start off this session. That MDW reaction was amazing considering it was the first spin, so it was only on the small monitors. However, I found it annoying how the $3500 hit got less of a reaction than a Mystery Wedge hit and Dan's close call with Bankrupt at the start of R3. It says "$3500" people, not "$35.00". -_- Dan, were you strategizing with your spin power? Whenever you were initially in between the Lose a Turn and Bankrupt area, you spun lighter and ended up in the "safe area" (top dollar to pink $900). You did us all proud, Dan. You deserve every penny out of Harry's pocket. :legend:So glad to see you make the most out of a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I'm glad I got to witness the beginnings of it firsthand. Congratulations, and thank you for all the entertainment! Even if I didn't know one of the players, this would still go down as one of the best shows of the season. It's games like these that make me sad that we can't see you do it all again.

I think we're starting to see a trend. Members of this forum who are contestants on the show tend to not only win their game, but are also far more likely to win the bonus round than on average.
Why is that? Is it just that people who join the forum tend to be searching the internet for any possible advantage or leg-up that they can get on the competition, or is it that future contestants are educated on game strategies by coming on forums like Buy a Vowel? I wonder.

Regardless of what the reason is, we're not complaining! I think a lot of people are looking primarily for audition tips to get on the show in the first place. After that, then maybe they're looking for a way to practice before going on the show (Game On, DPG, etc.) or just general strategy tips. This place definitely does give very good advice, after all...despite the fact that most of the folks giving the advice have yet to be on the show themselves!

I'm pretty sure it was on the "A", too. Brook is calling me "Dan the Rain Man" on Facebook. Haha gotta love it. BTW, there was a null cycle edit from R4. That's why Brook says, "Third time's a charm". We were having a little bit of trouble with the wheel and letters in that round.

As for what you just posted about R4 Dan, that's probably because R4 and onwards have shorter puzzles.

Dan, were you strategizing with your spin power? Whenever you were initially in between the Lose a Turn and Bankrupt area, you spun lighter and ended up in the "safe area" (top dollar to pink $900). The only time I can remember giving the wheel a differently powered spin was in the Mystery Round, and it was a complete fluke. I actually wanted to give it a full spin, as I was only space away from the trip to Italy on my previous spin. But, when I spun the second (and last time that round), my hand kind of slipped off of the spoke, and it only ended up being a half-spin to the MW. Speaking to that, I knew the R was in STREET, but I didn't know PERFORMER. I was hoping there was only 1 R, so I could flip, but, when he said there were 4, it was optimal strategy for me to decline and cushion my lead.

Either way, do you remember what letters you or the others called or what anyone spun? I imagine at least one cycle came before your $650 spin.

It might have been two cycles. I can't remember exactly. I'm pretty sure I bought a bad I, but I don't remember losing control three times in the same round. I think Patti had a Lose A Turn in there, and Brook called either a dud R or L (or both). That round was kind of a blur because I was just waiting for the game to be over with, so I could go to the BR.

Hold on a second...
2 T's @ $300 = $600 3 E's = $350 1 G = $850 2 A's = $600 1 N @ $650 = $1,250
...But when you hit the Bankrupt, your scoreboard said $750 right before it got covered with the BANKRUPT graphic, so that confirms that TWO cycles were edited out, both containing a wrong vowel from you (probably I and O). Wow...

Right, that makes sense. Well, at least they made it seem like I didn't call one dud letter all show

Thanks for the brainteaser, Dan, Brook, and the editors. I'm pretty sure I figured it out based on the strength of Patti and Brook's aired spins (though obviously, the letters are up for debate; they're just my best guesses at that point). I think this is the first time they've edited out SIX consecutive lost turns instead of three! It begins right after Dan called the G. I noticed the camera cuts away from him right before he's about to say "Can I buy an A?", so that's definitely where the edit occurred.

^ It's the first known time. Because of Season 15 or 16 where really short puzzles were sometimes used after Round 3 for no confirmed reason, I can't guarantee 3/6/14 is the first six-turn cut.
