So, for a while now, a radio DJ named Dan Dibley kept tweeting about his excitement (@dandibley) for taping Wheel this Friday. I wondered what was up with that, but then I saw a social media post from a Sony staffer saying that today is a "Wheel day", and then I went to the show's audience ticket page: www.wheeloffortune.com/be-a-contestant/request-ticketsClicking "Show Tour Calendar" shows a theme name "Wheel 32" (possibly a placeholder) and dates of May 1-2 (listed under "Air Date", but they could mean "Tape Date")...so Season 32 might already be taping this week!!  |

First picture:  We're thinking this might be a golf-themed week. The second picture on the large monitor appears to be an iron club, and Dan Dibley is a golf enthusiast. Notice the set is colored exactly the same as it was for V8 Week. You'd think they would have used green. The small monitor in the corner implies that the logo/title card has not changed (or at least not the slates), at least not in time for these tapings. |

I was selected to be a contestant after attending the Newport RI auditions in January. So figure now I should just wait till July to hear something. I know the letter I received said that they usually only give 2 weeks notice before arriving, is that the case normally? I've seen one of the people who were at my audition air already.  (Preacherman) I can't wait to get out there!!! |

Cool, another RI auditioner (I was at the earlier session)...they seemed to like a lot of us there, didn't they? You're the 5th or 6th I've counted from the later session that day, wow! We seem to be getting a lot of us from that area, which is fantastic. We should share stories, if you want; heck, maybe you saw me, or vice versa. Best of luck out in Culver City, too! And yeah, it's generally 2 weeks. I'd study former puzzles on the show, as well as ones related to your theme (say, if you get a Sandals week, you study vacation stuff). There's also the notes I wrote on the topic about what to do when you actually get on, also a topic by ten9lt. It's through, exhausting, and not at all memorizable in full for when you get on stage, but it's genuinely useful even for bits of the info that you're unsure of, have questions about for me or the other members/staff, etc. That thread can be found here. |
