That BR loss obviously hurt, especially when it was a bonus puzzle I knew right off the top. And imagine how worse it would've been if last night's bonus puzzle actually had been solved.
This has been a week of droughts ending- first the BR car, then the $5K wedge & now this.
Score: 3

I was able to get the bonus puzzle, but does anyone have a new box of Band-Aids? Seriously, guys, I need the whole box because tonight was a real you-know-quite-well-what-I-mean-when-it-comes-down-to-whatever-it-comes-down-to. And Pat & Vanna said that this was a good week, and that they gave away a lot of money? After what just happened to Anita as well as in the Bonus Round?! Are you kidding me?!

Well, after all this time something happens... TUs: Good job to Carol getting 2/3. R1: He could've said the K's, but nice round for Robert. This was last used on 1/20/09, when Daniel spun the pink $900 SIX times and won $15K+ in R3. R2: Ugly round. I don't blame Robert for leaving off the C's. R3-R4: Very tough break for Anita in R3, and she didn't get much chances to score. Good comeback by Carol! BR: Well, not only is Mike from last night off the hook, he's off in a big way - a $100,000 loss! Ouch. I know we've been waiting a long time for it to show up, Wheel, but NOT THIS WAY!!! Poor Carol. My rating: 4 out of 10 This week's rating: 6 out of 10 I hope someone wins $100K in the 3 weeks ahead.

Is it just me, or is the camera over the Wheel positioned a bit further out than usual nowadays? Seems like the past few weeks, a bit more of the scoreboard is visible during overhead shots of spins. MarioGS, you have a good eye for this...

I'll take a look in the coming weeks, Bobby, and compare it to my graphic of the overhead shot, or maybe some S29-30 shows. IT FINALLY HAPPENED! We can stop lamenting now...somewhat, though we'll probably have a 100K-winless season. So here are the Bonus Wheel stats as of tonight.

At least we went just over a full year without a $100K loss (May 14, 2013 to May 23, 2014).
Just my personal thought, but it's too bad we couldn't go a full year knowing that the most recent aired (first-run only) top prize hit, no matter how long ago, was a win. We fell 7 days short. (May 30, 2013 to May 23, 2014; excluding June 11, 2013 as it was also a win).

Yeah. That's something worth pointing out. Now, if this season goes by without a $100,000 win, this will be the second season since this type of bonus round was introduced where the $100,000 was not won, the first being Season 21, ten seasons ago. The thing is, however, that Season 31 was awfully close (much closer, in fact, than seasons 27 and 29) to being the first season since the $100K bonus round was introduced where the $100,000 was not even landed on. This season's the closest that's ever been.
So, overall, if the $100,000 is not won this season, I do find some comfort in the fact that at least it was landed on, sparing Season 31 from being the first season without a $100,000 land-on. This is probably also going to be the first season in a while where there were no six-figure winners. Does anyone know if there was anyone from Season 21 who managed to finish with a total of at least a hundred grand (before taxes obviously)?

Well, one of the few nights that I miss the show, being out of the house, and we finally break the streak... and not in a good way either.
The first grand prize hit of the season happened on show #180 of the season. Counting three shows from the end of last season, that's 182 episodes without even so much as one landing on the big spot. If my math is correct, you would only expect to see such a run of bad luck about 0.04325% of the time, or just one time in about 2312 trials.
Without inviting all the various arguments of probability versus actual observed events, I'm pretty sure we can agree that this was a pretty unlikely event. Hopefully next season we get back a little closer to our expected value of about eight hits per season, and throw some wins into the mix.

For this season, it went against 99.95% odds. Season 27 was against 99.6%. Does anyone know if there was anyone from Season 21 who managed to finish with a total of at least a hundred grand (before taxes obviously)? Season 21 did have at least one six-digit winner (11/14/03, although the exact total is unknown).

^ Are those odds for 180 episodes (just this season, counting this episode) or the 183 when you count the hit last season? Not that it matters much, but I'm curious about the detailed numbers. What's the formula for figuring this out again?

^ Those are the odds for just this season.
After looking at Wayoshi's formula, I rely on (-((23/24)^X) + 1) * 100, although I don't know if this can be rewritten for the exact same result.

So did the R1 puzzle seem familiar? It sure should have. Wheel LOVES using King Arthur or the Knights in some form... 02/11/04 R1: KING ARTHUR'S CAMELOT (Fictional Place) 01/20/09 R3: KING ARTHUR & THE KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (Fictional Characters) 06/08/10 R4: KING ARTHUR'S CAMELOT (Fictional Place) 03/22/11 R3: KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE AND CHAIRS (Before & After) 11/29/11 R4: KING ARTHUR AND SIR LANCELOT (Fictional Characters) 01/02/12 R4: KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (Fictional Characters) 05/23/14 R1: KING ARTHUR & THE KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (Characters) And hey, we actually got a needed, but not forced ampersand in R1 (KING ARTHUR/AND THE/KNIGHTS OF THE/ROUND TABLE fits, though "KNIGHTS OF THE" takes up all 14 screens, so they probably wouldn't want the AND to be on the extreme edge)...and then a Same Name still with AND in R2... -_- Well, at least the first call wasn't N or D and one out of two ain't bad.

Well tonight episode wasn't that good, including the $100K loss, but on a bright note: IT ABOUT TIME THAT IT HAS BEEN LANDED after going through about 180 episodes, thank god for that. Now all we need to worry is if the top prize would ever land on it again and solved a bonus puzzle before this season is over, and we only have three weeks shows left. We want confetti before our summer break, please!!

Pat said something like: "We want confetti" before going to the BR... He jinxed Carol xD But it wasn't a very hard puzzle, so if she had picked D and O probably she could have solved it.
Well, it has been a good week because we have seen some stuff that we haven't seen from time ago: some $5,000 hits, a $6,000 Final Spin and now a $100,000 hit, although it has resulted in a loss. Now I'm absolutely convinced that we wouldn't see a $100,000 win this season. I hope I'm wrong.

Hi
If anyone is wondering what the six digit total was in Season 21, it was $102,701. Two guys had won a pair of Lexus SUV's in the bonus round.
