I was reading the posts in the "Help for GSN to air Classic WOF eps. with Old Puzzle Board" thread, and I got an idea. What would you do if you were in charge of GSN?
Here's what I would do. First, I would put Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy back on the network. Classic 80s and 90s episodes in the morning, 00s episodes in the afternoon, and 10s episodes in primetime. If there are enough existing episodes of Woolery Wheel and Fleming Jeopardy, I would put those on weekends. Second, I would add more shows from the Sony library so Sony would have a bigger presence on their own network. Finally, I would remove some of their awful original programs that they continue to air such as Love Triangle, Mind of a Man, and Skin Wars.
I would also cut back on Steve Harvey's Family Feud. I don't mind Steve, but he can take it a little too far at times.
This is what I would do to GSN. What would you do?

^Too much WOF. If I was GSN, I'd purchase the rights to air current-day episodes of Price, WOF and J!. Price at 1pm, WOF at 8pm, and J at 8:30. GSN would be a good go-to place for any episodes you missed out on for that particular day.

I would cut down on the Steve Harvey Feud airings. I know it's one of their top ratings grabbers, but I don't think it needs 16 airings on Monday, 10 airings on Tuesday, 12 airings on Wednesday, 16 airings on Thursday, 8 airings on Friday, 8 airings on Saturday... okay, maybe 4 airings on Sunday's a little bit too few, but still. (numbers based off of the August 18-24 schedule)

(numbers based off of the August 18-24 schedule) I would do the same thing. It is completely unnecessary to have that many airings of Harvey's Feud on weekday evenings when they could make room for other shows like Greed, Card Sharks, WWTBAM, or even Dawson or Combs' versions of the show. Maybe cutting down the number of airings a little bit could work, but 16 shows on Monday and Thursday are definitely too much. I would also air re-runs of classic Wheel of Fortune from Seasons 1-12. The Puzzle Compendium could really use some updating!

I'd keep it what it's doing. Pretty cheap, and it reels in the ratings. The majority of the network's viewers like Harvey, and it's cheap. Great win-win for GSN and its viewers. These days, it's more likely to get viewers than some older shows-dream lineups, no budgets, etc. aside, they are doing the right thing. Furthermore, the original content is mostly showing okay, namely Chase, ABC to a lesser degree. This is also smart because it means no rights or estate costs, as it's their own property. This works long term, potentially, because as rights holders, these can be sold off for heavy profits, to a different corporation-think Super Millionaire and Fox.
This doesn't mean I have to like what the majority of programs are these days, I don't, as I feel much of Harvey's Feud forces humor, but the function of a business (or, in this case, a subsidiary; of Sony) is to maximize profits for its shareholders. With cheap, well viewed shows, their business model is very effective, and for that, I give them full marks.
Last but not least, you all are specialized fans with nostalgia. Unfortunately for you, this is not the majority view, as your eyes, as are mine, are biased. Virtually all of the suggestions I see here would provide lesser views at a greater cost. Not a good business strategy.

Yeah, I agree with the keep the status quo deal. As a HARDCORE Survivor fan, I really had to come to grips with the fact that Probst and Co. weren't listening to the superfans' opinions about how the show would be better because we are a TINY portion of the viewers. We know the ins and outs of the show, remember the tiniest details about its history, and we think we know what's best for the show in the long run, but the "casuals", as they are called on the online community, are what keep the show on the air, and that's the case for ANY TV show or channel, including Wheel and GSN.
Also, I found that just watching the show for what it is and not fretting about what it's become actually made it more enjoyable to watch and it's really just too much effort to complain all the time, y'know?

I totally agree with everyone about Steve's Feud and just the mass amount of Feud they show in a 24 hour period. Bring back the variety of shows they used to air even like 10 years ago. Also I'd like to see a game show related competition. I'm still waiting for the to have some sort of competition to find the next big game show host. It's a game show channel and it hasn't been created yet. I know they did something small a few years back but the winner should win more than just a quick spot on GSNLive.
