That can't be real. Seriously, what does -70 even feel like? (Not that I want to know, but...yeesh.)

It is.
What does it feel like? It feels like you're being stabbed...it's that fucking cold.
Is it spring yet?

Is that a record low for wind chill in the area?

I'd believe it. Grew up in Maine, and went ice fishing in -15 temperatures (-40 with wind chill). And cu's not exaggerating, temperatures like that are brutal. You quickly learn how to dress in layers.

In California, things are worse than the icy weather you experience.

That was only at 6pm. Overnight, those wind chills dropped all the way down to -110! (For our Canadian friends, that's -79C. Either way, you'll freeze to death within minutes out there!) /seriously, who pissed off Mother Nature...this is ridiculous, it's way too fucking cold

...Have I been living in a (mostly) warm-weather climate for so long that I outright don't see how a windchill of -110°F is possible?

-110 (deadly cold), I can imagine it happening in places like Alaska, on Mt. Everest and around the two Poles. That said, I'd rather have 110-degree heat in the summer, thank you very much.

But would you rather have -110F (-79C) cold, or 175 (+79C) heat?

Still, 175-degree heat.

+79C will cause you to bake to death just as quickly as -79C will cause you to freeze to death.

^ At least with -79 C, your air conditioner won't destroy the power grid.
