From WikiLeaks, lots of the Wheel leaks, of various links. This will not be comprehensive, but mostly the main/important stuff. You can find the rest on your own, and some more will be brought up, if it comes up in conversation. - "WJ!" is used as an abbreviation for "Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!".
- Harry got the idea for the Vanna For a Day contest after a woman told him "If Vanna ever gets tired of her job, I'm available to take her place." during a location shoot in New Orleans, something many people have said to him before.
Harry mentioned in early 2014 he was planning to do a April Fools show with 3 disguised celebs playing as "real people". Money goes to charity, and don't tip off that it was an April Fools joke until the next day. The idea was to disguise the celebs just enough to make the viewers wonder. March 2014: "This is the set we'll be taping on in Madrid. Our domestic viewers will certainly know instantly that this is something special ! www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUwcuW4xtuMWe've had a lot of communication with our counterparts in Madrid.. A lot more bang for the buck than London. Haven't talked to Armando yet." June 2014:"Harry is planning to produce episodes of wheel in spain to air in united states, as part of a promotional plan to raise interest in the format around the world" Summer 2014: "What if we switch back to London for taping 10 eps for domestic with Pat & Vanna. .Then slightly redress the set and gang shoot one WOF pilot for each territory in which Sony has the rights , using host, hostess and contestants from that territory: UK, France, Italy, Germany You probably saw this. I'm wondering if GTECH would have some interest in supporting a Wheel remote in Europe. It says they are moving their headquarters to the UK. online.wsj.com/articles/heard-on-the-street-gtech-plays-wheel-of-fortune-1405530111 " September 2014, from Harry: " Regarding Wheel Of Fortune remotes, we're planning to make a significant change for next season that we think will be a big long-term improvement. It means changing a proposed Philly remote from the old approach to the new, which is why I thought we should discuss it now while we're in the middle of ABC renewal talks." --- So, the big news here, in short? Looks like the S33 locale may be overseas, given what is being said, most likely Madrid, changed from Philadelphia earlier.

Ooh...this is actually a pretty cool idea. Hopefully, this won't be like when Deal or No Deal went "Around the World", which amounted to three countries whose versions all had the same format as the American one. Might give Harry ideas for using some of Spain's unique elements, if Madrid's the final plan. If it's London, though...well, Wheel was canned way back in 2001, so this might be the push it needs to get back on the air. Harry got the idea for the Vanna For a Day contest after a woman told him "If Vanna ever gets tired of her job, I'm available to take her place." during a location shoot in New Orleans, something many people have said to him before. In that case, whose idea was it to make the prize...well, what it was?

ITV (the UK TV channel that aired the UK version of Wheel) already have two game shows dominating its daytime schedule (Tipping Point and The Chase), so I doubt they air the revival there. Perhaps Challenge (a.k.a. Uk's equivalent channel to GSN) could pick it up given the success the classic episodes have as far as ratings.
Regardless, if Wheel of Fortune is revived in the UK they should use pound sterling amounts on the Wheel like all other international versions do nowdays, even if it means being as cheap as Spain is with said amounts.

Yeah, I never quite understood why the British Wheel never played for pounds, since playing for points made the title a bit of a misnomer. I can understand the daytime era (2000-01) using points, but not when the show was in primetime. (Speaking of Challenge, from what I've heard they're gonna be airing Bradley Walsh's one series soon, if they haven't started already. Yeah...)
Also, an idea to Sony for Season 33: why not have Wheel go to Australia for some shows and maybe spark interest in a revival there? I mean, a 25-year run that spanned from the Woolery era into the mid-2000s has to count for something, and I thought it managed to stay awesome pretty much throughout said run (plus, hey, they kept the classic three-line board and sunburst backdrops until late 1992). Million-Dollar Wheel of Fortune...notsomuch, although it wasn't really for lack of trying.

I'm disappointed that Harry never considers taking Wheel and Jeopardy! on the road to my country of Canada. I'm even more ticked that Canadians can no longer be contestants on Wheel either.
That's got to stop, and those at Sony have to stop spurning the Canadian fans of those shows.
And too bad about financial costs over dealing with us.

I remember reading about this over at Facebook back on April 1st, and a lot of people were saying that this was the show's yearly April Fools prank. I said, "What if they're actually trying to fool you into thinking that this is an prank and that they are indeed going to do this?"
I'm not going to say that I'm right just yet, but I can imagine it's starting to look like it. If they are, this will be something I will most certainly enjoy watching.

I knew that the US team went to visit La Ruleta team last year, because I read it in the personal blog of La Ruleta's director. Although he didn't specify what was the purpose of the visit: nacho.tv/mi-foto-con-parte-del-equipo-de-the-wheel-of-fortune/I will be very happy and proud if this plan comes to reality.

I don't know but it looks like Pat and Vanna has been spending a lot of time in Seattle. They posted some pictures together there on their Instagram and Twitter pages, so it could mean something for next season. Also in one of them Vanna did mention it was day one of filming there so...

Then again, a few years back they went to...what was it, Jamaica?...to do some filming, and it was nothing more than commercial bumpers and other plugs. I'm disappointed that Harry never considers taking Wheel and Jeopardy! on the road to my country of Canada. I'm even more ticked that Canadians can no longer be contestants on Wheel either. Wait, what? First I've heard of Canadians being prohibited from appearing on Wheel. That's got to stop, and those at Sony have to stop spurning the Canadian fans of those shows. This is why I suspect they'll never do any shows in Alaska -- because they have to go through Canada to get there, and on the way they'll have to dodge those who are (rightly) upset that Canadians arbitrarily can't participate in SPIN ID drawings and, apparently, can't even be contestants on the show. And too bad about financial costs over dealing with us. Okay, this part I don't understand. Are you talking about the exchange rate between US dollars and Canadian dollars? ==================================================== I looked it up on Wheel's website and ronic's right. Per the "Be a Contestant" page... ...So why is Wheel airing in Canada, again? I mean, it's basically going "Hey, Canadians, want to play America's Game? Well, screw you! It's not North America's Game, it's the United States' Game!" If Canada had their own version of Wheel like they did back in the early '90s with La Roue Chanceuse, I wouldn't have nearly as big an issue with this, but as things stand the "US residents only" rule kinda feels arbitrary.

Pat and Vanna were interviewed on Seattle station KOMO today. If these shoots are for a remote, they'll definitely say so. They did the same thing when Wheel began shooting in New York for the upcoming Season 30 remote. I heard that these are for a "Seattle Week", so either this is a remote or a cheap theme week in Culver City.
If this turns out not to be for a remote, that's not a good sign. I just learned from a source that while next season's schedule is not finalized yet, there are currently no plans for any remote next season. If this is the case, this will be the breaking of a long-standing Wheel tradition, being the first season since Season 5 to not have a remote and the first season without once since they starting doing them. Not to mention that this would REEK of cheapness on Wheel's part.
Please, oh PLEASE let this be for a remote...

I think that's too early to say that there won't be remote tapings. They taped the Hawaii weeks on September (although it's true that we knew it some months ago). Let's wait until this season finishes, we will know more about that...

From a Wheel employee's public Facebook... "Usually", huh? :shifty: On the subject of remotes, per the Email leaks, a few years ago, Wheel had considered remotes at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, Savannah, and Milwaukee. The reason they never taped in Milwaukee and the reason they're hesitant to do so is because there's "not enough visual appeal" there, and Season 30's NYC remote was originally planned to be at Radio City instead of MSG. Also, Jeopardy! considered taping one of their recent College Championships at Harvard University.

It'd really suck if they scrapped their plans to go to another country because of the email leaks. Well, "usually" by definition doesn't mean "always" or "yes". On the subject of remotes, per the Email leaks, a few years ago, Wheel had considered remotes at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, Savannah, and Milwaukee. The reason they never taped in Milwaukee and the reason they're hesitant to do so is because there's "not enough visual appeal" there, Wait, wait, hold on, wait. Did they explain what they meant by "not enough visual appeal"? What, there's no beaches to shoot pointless footage at or something? I'm getting the feeling "not enough visual appeal" is their blanket reasoning for not taping at a lot of places in the United States. (Well, that and effort. :effort: ) Honestly, I think the puzzle board and especially Wheel being so heavy is part of why they don't go on much of any road shows. As such, why not build identical-looking but much lighter versions of the puzzle board and Wheel so you can go places without carting around something like two tons of weight? I don't really know how to lighten the former aside from having less monitors, but for the latter I'd say go the simple route Ed Flesh did back in '74: cardboard, paint, and light bulbs. (No idea how to make the contestant area lighter, though.)

I just don't see why they wouldn't do a remote. I've always looked at the road shows as the highlight of the season. I miss when they shot at two locations in a year. (I believe they've gone to three places in a season before, too, right?) it's just something that seems to go hand in hand with the show. Pat and Vanna have always talked about how much they love going on the road. I just hope they are trying to say "no remote" as a distraction to keep us guessing. Who knows...

They've gone to four locations in Seasons 15 and 16.
I also believe the reason they wouldn't have had a remote in Season 8 has to do with the old road show Wheel base being redone for the home studio. They simply no longer had a second one that could work after extending the scoreboards. For the upcoming season, they can't use that as an excuse.

Pat and Vanna are taping segments in Denver! Don't know if the segments from Seattle and Denver are being used for America's Game weeks or remotes for Season 33?

I read that the Denver shoots are just for prizes, but I also read from someone who witnessed the Seattle shoots that they were for a "Seattle Week". I'm sure most of these clips will be used for future AG weeks regardless.

the Denver Shoots will be a Denver Week in Season 33, just like the Seattle shoots for a Seattle Week I think it will be like Wheel Loves NY or Pacfic Northwest or Viva Las Vegas in Culver city from this Season with a themed set or generic set Guess we will find out when WOF tapes in Culver City in June or July. Love the City weeks and Love Wheel of Fortune!
