Hi levesp08. I was just getting ready to PM you to see if you had received a letter. Nothing here either. I am taking it a lot harder than I thought I would, even though I had tried so hard to not get my hopes up too high. The first time I ever auditioned was in 1983!! (i wonder if that's a record...) Hang in there - Hopefully they are just late!

I asked around for you. Here is a clip of a news report on the audition. Do either of you see yourselves? I'd give it just one more day, but just keep trying! At least you had a fun experience, you'll know what to expect next time, and you can learn from what you thought you could improve on. I admire your perseverance especially, csb61.  A lot of us members weren't even born when you started auditioning. You'll make it someday! Keep checking the Wheelmobile thread for any chances at future audition opportunities and keep applying online. Note that you have to wait one year before auditioning again, so if you should get an audition invite after the year has passed, call them and you will be guaranteed an audition the next time they're near you. |

csb61, I feel for you! And I too am surprised at just how disappointed I am, I wanted it more than I knew. If this doesn't work out, I'm joining the club right there with you.... not giving up! MarioGS That was incredibly sweet for you to ask around for me, much appreciated! I don't recognize anyone from the clip, I think that was during the morning audition (I was in the afternoon.) I will feel better either way if I just had some confirmation that they were sent.

Depending on what they mean by "east coast", a lot of people do live there. Players from the west are just as good, but probably not as plentiful (regardless of how they play).

Well, my husband walked out to get the mail and said not a word, so I was sitting here moping! Then after about 5 minutes or so he sat down next to me... And handed me a letter. THE letter! I actually started to cry. So Mario, I. Believe that makes seven!!

genius2751 It really is amazing and is even more deserved for those that have put so much time, years & effort... makes me feel almost unworthy. Regardless, I just feel very lucky and grateful! And MarioGS , the friend that you got in touch with for me on Twitter, "Von"... she got the letter too!!!!! Hopefully she joins the boards if she hasn't already!

I have been literally waiting for this all my life. I came home to check the mail (day 14) and screamed at the mailbox and ran in to hug my mom and read the letter aloud with a shaking voice (there's a video of that somewhere that I did not approve of). I think with the amount of future contestants, we need a thread somewhere that we can collectively freak out on and share our anxieties and excitement and share resources...or something. I don't know. It's been 2 weeks and it's still all I can think about. Surreal. Can't imagine what taping day will be like. Here's a bonus pic I recently came across of me "Playing Vanna" around 5 years old (1995ish) on the TV. Unfortunately, it's an old CRT TV so you can't see what's on, but it's an episode of WoF!  |

It's here that I'd like to mention that I've been keeping a running total of BAV members' winnings on this list. By my count, somebody in this thread who's gotten the letter may be the 100th BAV member to have been on the show. Since there are apparently seven people who are waiting their turn to play, it's entirely possible we could pass $4 million in total BAV winnings in the ensuing months. Ooooh, I'm getting all goosebumpy just thinking about it... |
