I thought I'd try covering my wheel with plastic (when it's not in use, of course) like the show does. It does help keep the dust off...

Everything is so beautiful and on point! I am in awe. Thanks! I still need to print out 13 green WOF tiles for the puzzleboard. I'm just using crayon-colored paper now for that bottom row and one on the 3rd row. I wish I had more prize wedges. I'd love to have a "SHOPPING SPREE" wedge---like the one used on the show.

tlc, that is so cool! What did you have to do to make the Wheel? I'm kind of curious, actually. Unfortunately I'm stuck with a board game until I have enough skill or what to make a set of my own. Major props here, dude.

Just wanted to show a couple of updates I made to my wheel. I painted red, yellow, & blue below the flappers replacing the original purple. I also painted a piece of poster board and am now using it for the green center of the wheel. I plan on doing a few more paint touch-ups soon. It needs touching up ever so often. I also plan on redoing the silver ledge above the display scores---I want to make one solid piece instead of 4 separate ones.

Excellent as always! I am in the process of changing up some of the layouts on my S34 wheel. As always, you are an inspiration to keep my own wheel in tip-top shape. I noticed you had some 5-rounders in your recaps---do you have a stopwatch set at 22 min, and use that to determine when the Final Spin goes, or do you do a natural 3 toss up, 3 rounds, 4th full speed up? Personally, as a family in-joke, R4 is always Food & Drink with some long puzzle and R5 is a full speed up.

I always do:
$1,000 Toss-Up $2,000 Toss-Up Round 1 Mystery Round Prize Puzzle/Express Round $3,000 Toss-Up Round 4 Round 5 (always started in final spin mode) Bonus Round
I tried doing timed games to see when I would give the wheel a final spin but it never worked properly. It was always going off way too early because of me taking my time to change the wheel wedges and changing the puzzleboard. I may try it again in the future and stop the clock before doing these things. But it's just much easier to do it the way I've listed above.
You mentioned 22 minutes. Does anyone know exactly how long gameplay lasts before the bell rings?

Just judging by watching the show (and assuming the show starts at half-past the hour), I've noticed the bell goes off around :51 past. So that would make it about 20 minutes into the show (bearing in mind this includes commercials, contestant interviews, and prize descriptions; and excludes both whatever's left of the round when it goes off and the bonus round).
So here's what I would do: set your game clock to 17 minutes and start it right before you play the first toss-up. Stop the clock when you have to change puzzles and wheel wedges (that will eat up most of your time, and when the show still used the manual puzzleboard that's exactly what they did), but otherwise keep it running. Unless you have particularly daft players, this should make it so that the bell should go off in the middle of Round 4 or thereabouts.
In between rounds, check the clock. If you're running low on time after the third toss-up (1 minute or less, say), consider starting Round 4 as a full speed-up.
Of course, the nice thing about not being a television show is that you can flex however you want. You don't have to hold yourself to strict time limits--chances are the people you're playing with aren't going to notice you're a minute or two over. You don't even need a clock--you can just feign time running out when you're actually hitting the bell on your own terms. You want a Round 5 full speed-up? Fine! You want a Round 6? Fine! You want to screw people over in Round 3 by sounding the bell then? Fine! It's your show, do whatever you want.

You want to screw people over in Round 3 by sounding the bell then? Fine! It's your show, do whatever you want. Lol! This is great! I remember watching an old episode from S12 or 13, and they had a speed up round during round three and it was odd. There is another way to do the final spin, if you don't want to use a timer: You could underline/highlight a specific letter in your puzzle and if a player calls that letter, then that's your signal for the final spin bell. I used to use this a few years back, and it was a nice surprise. My only rule on that was it had to be a letter in the puzzle--can't select "X" and grin evilly while they anticipate a final spin bell that never comes! Since I have particularly long puzzles for Food & Drink, and I use the recap shows for puzzles, I'd lean towards a 30-minute time limit. -A 8)

I'm thinking about changing the look of my Free Play wedge. Should I? Which look do you like better? ***The one I'm currently using in the pics above? ***A neon color (pink, green, yellow, or orange)? MarioGS made these awesome wedges on this page: buyavowel.boards.net/thread/3772/page/17/Thread?page=40***The dark green with yellow "free" that's used in the Free Play app and other online games?

I like your current free play best but the wedge also looks good in orange.

You could print one out in each neon color and swap the colors for each round. That's what I did on the big 36" wheel (RIP) that I had. It added a really cool twist, since I'm sure most of us do not have thousands of dollars to install a colorful HD color-changing electronic wedge to our wheels In that thread you referenced, there were also alternate versions that had $500 printed below them in white. -A
