As many of you may have recalled The American Bible Challenge was the most popular GSN original to ever air on it's own channel. In fact I enjoyed it because it's one of the rare GSN originals I like these days since GSN doesn't make as many good originals(when they make originals) like it used to. But I've noticed that The American Bible Challenge has not aired in a year now on GSN. There have been rumors that this programming has been removed of GSN's schedule altogether despite being a recent & the most popular GSN original ever. I personally think this was unprofessional on GSN's part as they could lose money for their network but also because they may have lost some viewers due to them removing this? Does anyone else think it was unprofessional on GSN's part to remove The American Bible Challenge?

It's not unprofessional. It's television. They've wanting to get away from the "shiny floor games" lately, and this is how they're doing it. If they want to take the risks of completely new original programming, more power to them.

I know GSN is a business as this was said many times on the Mr. Irrelevant part of this board. But don't you think that it would be better business for GSN if they kept in their original programming that did well in ratings. Besides aren't original programming on GSN generally cheaper for their network and don't you think maybe from a business standpoint GSN could do well from original programmings that give them huge ratings & a lot of money. Just so you all know I still watch GSN for game shows such as Harvey's Family Feud, the game shows on the morning lineup, and Deal or No Deal. I just think this was a terrible move for a business standpoint for GSN.

GSN in is still on the air so it obviously didn't hurt them that much... if at all.

I know GSN is a business but don't you think that it would be better business for GSN if they kept in their original programming that did well in ratings. Actually GSN's original programming tends to be what appears to have killed it. GSN's highest ratings have always come from reruns of classic game shows (or reboots thereof) Removal of these shows from GSN especially Match Game, Wheel's and Jeopardy's removal causes it to go down the toilet, Match Game Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy have always carried the network since it premiered in 1994 taking two of those off their schedule is practically giving them the axe, the only time GSN wasn't fully dependent on Wheel and Jeopardy or Match Game was when they had access to the old episodes of TPIR during the dark age (including a few fur slips). Better business for GSN is to axe their original programs and put the classic shows they still have back on depending upon how they see fit. The thing about Show Business is that it's emphasis is on business not show, that's the way they roll.
