What's funny is that I was also just interviewed for German network RTL, but GMA and Today, whose studios are only about an hour away from me, didn't bother reaching out.  But Today flew out the lady who dropped the G from SWIMMING? Okay, then... Everybody has just been using excerpts from a "tell-all" interview I did for my local paper (copied and pasted on the previous page). I bet the journalist feels great about that.  |

Haha. Well, March Madness probably didn't help. And yeah, you're game was just overall amazing. There wasn't one pinpoint they can focus on (like SWIMMIN' girl or cornercurrrcabinet, etc.)

There was a news story of you wins on Australia's leading morning breakfast show, Sunrise which airs on the Seven Network.
It showed all your wins and fast solves including your one letter solve on the first Toss Up puzzle.
It mentioned that you could possibly be the best Wheel of Fortune contestant ever.
Coincidentally, the Seven Network also launched Wheel of Fortune in Australia back in 1981.

One week later, but... Congratulations, Robert! You really made this episode one of the best of this season, if not the best. It was a pity that USTVnow didn't record the episode (because of the basketball tournaments of the previous weeks, it seems that the website didn't remember that it should record Thursday's and Friday's episodes...). Of course, your BR win deserved more than $33,000, as you perfectly said.
While I was reading your story, my memories of my tapings came back to life... And Pat knowing about BAV is simply awesome! I wonder if he had only heard of it or if he has actually read the boards.

So I think that's it. I didn't get as many calls as I was expecting because everybody just quoted that tell-all local paper interview. I did have a potential interview with San Diego's ABC affiliate KGO, but they already aired the segment before I could contact them. Let's see, the following American TV shows that mentioned me that I can think of: Good Morning America Today (twice) Entertainment Tonight E! News Fox News (Fox & Friends and The Five) CNN ABC World News Tonight TMZ Live Dan LeBatard is Highly Questionable The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon The Talk The Talk's segment is one of my favorites. It's brief and it's not "discussed" but Julie Chen reads my strategies so dramatically, and when she mentions that the show repeats puzzles, the audience ooh's. |
