I'm really doing this in case someone wants to know the right font to use in their Wheel of Fortune artwork. In fact, as I'm typing this, I'm trying to find the font that Brazil used on their Wheels during the Roletrando era. I do know that the American show's logo font is Chesty thanks to wheelgenius. Chesterfield was one of the original fonts for the Wheel layout, but what about other elements? My best guess for the font used on the old Puzzle Board is Cairo. Even if it's not the font, it's the closest I know of. But what triggered me starting this thread was that earlier today I found the font that I feel pretty certain was used for the money graphic in the show's opening from the old days. If I'm right, the font used in that money graphic is Tungsten. In fact, an extra-skinny version of that font may be the one that Brazil used for their old Wheel font. The problem is getting it. None of the big font sites have it, or at least the Tungsten I'm referring to.

^ Well, it was... The digital version of that font that exists today is much different. Compare this to this specimen of the letterpress version of the font. Concerning what's available in the digital age, the closest existing font to the trilon board font is Beton Bold Condensed.

^Season 25 was such a great season for so many reasons. I wish there were more episodes of this season available on dailymotion.

I wonder what the $25,000, $30,000, $35,000, $40,000, $45,000, $50,000, $100,000, and $1,000,000 logos looked like from season 19 to season 30

^ The font used for the cash values in the Bonus Round envelopes, @billym82094? It should be a Helvetica font. I want to say it's a narrow bold version of it.

Not even, I'm certain it's part of the Swiss family. MarioGS may know.

I've always used Helvetica Narrow Bold for the bonus envelopes. Is there even a difference between Helvetica and Swiss?

^ If the below discussion is correct, Swiss is literally nothing more than Helvetica with its serial numbers filed off. groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/adobe.typography/HSsN6c2YSck ETA: Apologies for the link not working directly, but it works if you copy and paste it.

You may be right, Hirsk26. After all, a different version of Swiss is used for the dollar values on the board used on Jeopardy!, specifically a Swiss911 font.

Throughout Season 12 (1994-1995), the last season to use the Gill Sans font for the category chyrons and prize totals and Helvetica fonts for the road shows, the closing text that appeared in lowercase was printed in white, in the Palatino Italic font; uppercase text (such as names) remained in Gill Sans, but in a pale pink version. Full credit rolls began with the title logo in a multi-color, marble-like appearance; headers appear in Palatino Italic upon a parallelogram in the same color scheme as the logo.

You're right MarioGS, I think the lettering for the Lose A Turn, Bankrupt, Free Spin and cash wedges were like stenciled onto each colored wedge. I discovered that during Seasons 12, 13 and the first two weeks of Season 14, the text on each of the wheel's 24 wedges, excluding the sparkly top dollar value wedges were looking a little thicker.

In Season 13 (1995-1996), the font for the category names, prize values, post-Bonus Round totals, sponsor list, eligibility disclaimer and credits were changed to Clearface. The font used for the Bonus Round prize value "plaque" graphic during Seasons 13 and 14 was Leawood. During the road shows of Season 13, the text alternated between a Dutch 766 font and a Century Bold Condensed font. The Dutch 766 font was later used for the front game prize values for Seasons 14 through 17 and also used for the Bonus Round prize value "plaque" graphic from Seasons 13 through 15.

In most episodes of Season 18 (2000-2001), the font for the prize values during the front game were in an Optima Bold font, while the prize values in the Bonus Round were in a Brush Script font. The player's post-Bonus Round winnings were golden numbers in a Geometric 415 font on a green rectangle. On some episodes, the player's post-Bonus Round winnings were in Brush Script.

^ It's called Univers 85 Extra Black, but you would need to compress it manually to make the numbers as thin as they are on the show.
