Thanks everyone for the kind words. I made some dumb letter choices but other than that I had an awesome time. To be honest, we couldn't hear Amanda add the "A". So when Pat said, no that's not it my stomach dropped because I thought that was the answer too. That's why I called a "B" because that was the only word I could come up with after RI_. Thank the Lord for the used letter board because I correctly assumed since the P was still up there it could be the answer. After I solved, I could hear Amanda say under her breath "That's what I said" and I also heard Annette say "That's what she said." It's hard to hear other contestants some times because they are facing away from you and she wasn't really yelling her answers. Trust me, if I had known the R1 puzzle I would have solved and not spun again. What an amazing experience and I will post a longer version of how I got there. I can't thank all of my board mates enough for all the good advice and encouragement. Hopefully something I post will help someone else along the way. David What about Honolulu Hawaii? I was able to get it with the N and Ls. Also, Rib-Roaring Ride doesnāt even make any sense. Edit: Sorry if I was a little harsh on you and your opponents. If I had to say anything about you, you did well, and you were interesting, and Iām impressed that you guessed Ceramic in the BR with no help from the additional letters.

David, you did a good job tonight! I loved your Barney impersonation. šš¾šš¾
But boy, was this game CRAZY! š³
I think it all started with your big BANKRUPT in R1, David. In that round, I think Amanda couldāve gone for the Rās.
Then came R2...I thought Amanda said āuhā, and that probably explains why you didnāt call a P at first.
The ladiesā repeats and the frequent Lose a Turn hits sure baffled me. Iām actually surprised we even got a R5 or extra time.
With that said, all three of you did pretty good.
I blanked on the first half of the second word in the BR, but got it when you struck out with your picks, David (and I think thatās the first time thatās ever happened with PHGO). Iām impressed you got everything but BAKE; perhaps CDMA or BCDA (First Four letters) might have helped.
My rating: 5
Enjoy your winnings!

In regard to R2, the show's been inconsistent on the whole "adding words" rule for decades: from at least 1978 onward, Chuck would remind the players to "solve the puzzle exactly as it says on the board", but in 1985 Pat said that "You can add an "A" or "AN" when solving.", yet just two years later a contestant was penalized for adding "THE". Wheel's had an issue with not using proper grammar in many cases, and I've never been sure why. [Pat] said that it's only acceptable to do that if he prompts them to solve with a question that would warrant the "A", such as, "What is it?" or "What is this Thing?". Saying just "okay" or "go ahead" is not enough. As far as I know, Pat doesn't actually use either of those questions, but even then... I think they should've given Red credit for the solve in R2. I thought we've had people in that situation before gain credit for that type of solve and I don't see why they shouldn't have done it here. I thought it was obvious: it's a Same Letter puzzle where adding an A makes it no longer be an alliteration, hence the ruling.

David Not only were you humble on camera, you are exceptionally humble off camera. Couldn't think of a better person to fill in as the Big Purple Dinosaur if the Winner was unable to perform his/her duties LOL That being said, Round 2 was an absolute train wreck. first and foremost Amanda looked REALLY aggravated when you solved the puzzle Dave, due to no fault of your own. It's common place at times to add that "A" or something when speaking in conversation but one of the BIGGEST rules of WOF is always to NEVER ADD ANYTHING EXTRA and she slipped. To me though, what really made me do a face palm was when Annette called the EXACT SAME LETTER right after you did. I don't blame you for calling a B. You were unaware that the ONLY reason it wasn't correct when Amanda guessed was because she added the "A" before the answer itself. All in all though, you did phenomenal, and that bonus round was once again a very tricky one to solve. I was SCREAMING at the screen "DONT PICK IN THE KITCHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL trust me, I have bad memories of that puzzle LOL but still, Really glad you were the one that came out on top and WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!!!!!!!! LOL John

My mom and I are big Wheel fans, and she is a preschool teacher. You can imagine her excitement when a a guy from Barney appeared on the show! And the "ceramic" guess...very well done.
This episode had it all, from missolves to that one puzzle that gave everyone trouble to the wrath of Lose a Turn (is it me or is whoever's playing blue landing on bad wedges a lot lately?). And most importantly, everyone got stuff.

I absolutely agree with you there! However if I was in his shoes, I would have went with Living Thing (Although Pink Begonias was insane) If I had a chance to do MY BR over again, I would have went with Fun & Games. Even though it's more broad of a topic, with my limited experience "In The Kitchen" it would have probably given me a better shot at bringing it home. John

David I think it is a little more difficult to hear things in studio, (My wife said were were from Thunder Bay, then Pat commented about Trebek being from Sudbury, I was lost thinking maybe he was making a Canadian connection, but it was because he heard her say Sudbury and was quite frankly in my own world not hearing anything). At first glance upon seeing this, I did not quite catch it and I can totally understand why you were confused. Of course, Pat cannot comment at all until it was finished. I think your final comment here summarizes it all. I loved your attitude on screen it was great and positive. Everyone responds differently when the tape rolls, I think Annette was a little nervous because when you gave her props, she didn't say anything, hehe, but she showed great gamesmanship at the end when she shook your hand. Great job and congrats Dave.

Toss-Ups: Quick solve for Amanda in the $1,000 one. R1: The audience did not have a reaction to David hitting the Million Dollar Wedge. R2: The audience inexplicably applauded Amandaās missolve. R3: Bad dud on $3500. R4: A null cycle was not edited out of this round (a DQ for an already called E, an incorrect Y, and an incorrect D) R5: I thought that the buzzer would get Annette when she was trying to solve the puzzle in the Speed-Up. BR: No help from Davidās extra letters. Episode Rating: 3/10

R4: A null cycle was not edited out of this round (a DQ for an already called E, an incorrect Y, and an incorrect D) A vowel-consonant-consonant cycle cannot be edited out because that affects score.
