FIFTY GIGABYTES (Things) Okay, maybe that's a really stupid one, but you never know. They did have GIGABYTES as a puzzle in September 2007, and they seem to like reusing words. They've used FOUR QUARTS, so it's possible.

I already called dibs on that one in the OP. FIFTY GIGABYTES (Things) Okay, maybe that's a really stupid one, but you never know. Hopefully they'll never stoop as low as my old DPG puzzle DIVIDING BY SIX (WAYD?).

CALAIS AND DUNKIRK (On The Map) That has potential to be a very memorable BR. Even if you got someone who was fond of history and could actually identify them, I would be curious to know what the acceptable correct pronunciation of "Calais" would be. I have seen it on a map, but have never actually heard it pronounced. Obviously, the French would pronounce it differently than your average American, so what pronunciation would be the accepted one? Reminds me of the Flamenco incident last week, the only other word I can currently think of that I have seen, but not actually heard. So, has anyone ever lost the BR due to mispronunciation?

So, has anyone ever lost the BR due to mispronunciation? MILAN ITALY comes to mind from 1988. She said "Mill-un" and "My-lun". She appealed with the judges during the commercial break, but they decided not to accept it since it's pronounced "muh-lan". There is speculation that someone lost a BR in Season 11 by failing to pronounce a fully-revealed bonus puzzle correctly, although it's not known what the answer was.

Don’t forget HUMDITTY and HOKEY FANS (went unsolved, and person failed to read it correctly when all of the letters were being revealed after time was up).

FOUR ACES, too. Hopefully they'll never stoop as low as my old DPG puzzle DIVIDING BY SIX (WAYD?). I can accept FOUR ACES as a puzzle. DIVIDING BY SIX would be dumb, though DIVIDING BY FOUR isn't much better. Most likely, I think DIVIDING BY TWO would be the puzzle (and the contestant would be "DECIDING ON" something).

That one's already been said. If they ever do use this, I hope they know the risk of the huge storm of bad publicity that would follow if the contestant were to pronounce it "oaks-a-cah" and lose.

Believe it or not, that’s been done in a Season 20 episode ( buyavowel.boards.net/thread/5940/november-14-2002-recap Categorized as Things). But it is a possibility that they could use it again. We’ve seen EGYPTIAN PHARAOHS (solved by tenpoundhammer), FILM CLIP, and JOURNAL PAGES all from the current season. Those were recycled puzzles.

Fat chance. In Season 29, Pat implied they would never use a puzzle like PLAGUE (one team's guess to the puzzle PLYWOOD), so they're not gonna use this. On the other hand, there's still a chance that it was a Bonus Puzzle before the switch to an electronic puzzleboard.

^ I was going with precedent. BABY-PROOFING is always hyphenated if it’s one word.
