Winners seem to be looking away from the camera for the bonus round category choices when Pat reveals them before the final commercial break. For anybody who has been to a taping since season 35, where exactly are these categories shown to the contestant? Are they on the center-stage monitor (between the wheel and puzzleboard), on the puzzleboard itself, or elsewhere?

The choices are shown on the puzzle board as a list with asterisks acting as bullet points. This is why the longest category is always listed last. You'll also never see sets with two "long" categories offered at the same time if all three can't fit the board, such as WAYD? and WAYW? Here's what it looks like. When one is picked, the other two disappear.  |

Thanks for clarifying. I suppose the show would be able to offer multiple "long" categories if they weren't reliant on the puzzleboard to display the titles, but alas they don't.
