A couple of little birds from Sony let the word out that the end of this month will be an amazing, lucky, and history-making episode, and we won't be sorry to watch. Hmm...I wonder what could have happened. Guess we'll find out soon...
Anyone who reports this information must credit Buy a Vowel Boards as a source. Thank you.

I wonder if Wheel itself will spoil it like they did 4 1/2 years ago...? I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised!

If it's that kind of event, I'm sure they will...

^They're so close to a primetime network game show these days, it wouldn't surprise me if they did. It also wouldn't surprise me if the little birdies were told to chirp this song.

I just want to say (again) that all this shit about us being a source for this is just dumb. No one should care.

Well, to be honest, whether they do or not, it's still good. It's about damn time to see it won!

I wouldn't be surprised to see it go the other way, but I suppose that's not something they'd hype.

Guys, guys, chill out. Chuck Woolery's coming back. That's all. That or they're announcing that they have borrowed CNN's holograph machine to bring back Merv Griffin and recreate the moment he caught Pat & Vanna kissing. :legend:

Is there a specific week as to when this happens?

I'm not sure if I need to hide this, but I'm just excited because two of the people I had my final audition with are going to be on that week!

That's great! If you still keep in touch with them, tell them about this forum (though because of their agreement with the show, they better keep quiet about any happenings that week).

Not believing it cause its so impossible to do and another thing why even say anything? Three things: 1) It's not all that impossible. 2) Two birdies couldn't keep their frickin' mouths shut and may have blabbed under orders. Also, Wheel is trying so hard to be a modern-day primetime network game show, and what's one notable element of those shows? Not being able to shut up when something big happens. 3) It has to be something budget-busting because of how bad the New York tapings went in regard to the Bonus Rounds (2W/13L so far).

If you're referring to what I think, NOT impossible, already been done once... and why say anything? Try to boost viewers for that broadcast (is that during a sweeps week? Not sure when they are)
ETA: If Wheel wants to be a big primetime network game, why not BECOME one? Wouldn't it take one call to Television City or Burbank to get a timeslot lined up?

and why say anything? Try to boost viewers for that broadcast (is that during a sweeps week? Not sure when they are) May is an entire month of sweeps, as are November and February (and August, but I'm not sure if that still holds true) -- in the case of May, it's when shows generally pull out their big guns to get ratings and determine advertiser rates. Basically, Friedman's stinking up almost the entirety of May Sweeps because he knows (read: hopes and prays) he can knock one out of the ballpark on the last week. That, and the Bonus Round's difficulty in the New York shows thus far indicates that something big went down at Culver City and Harry's taking out his budgetary revenge on the road. ETA: If Wheel wants to be a big primetime network game, why not BECOME one? Wouldn't it take one call to Television City or Burbank to get a timeslot lined up? Not exactly. CBS' schedule is pretty solid (if they don't have room for Price MDS', they definitely don't have room for Wheel), and besides that any network that wants a game show wants an hour-long one (and it's one of the reasons Monty Hall's washed his hands of the current Let's Make A Deal). Regardless, I'm pretty sure that despite (or perhaps because of) everything Friedman's done for/to the show, he's never going to have the pull that Merv had -- which wasn't absolute, I admit, but it was more of a pull than Harry has. See the dueling shows in Combination Lock and Crosswords (which had the same host!) back in 2006-07.

Isn't NBC's schedule pretty well in the crapper? I'm sure they could use a boost... and what's wrong with an hour-long Wheel? Just go with how the 1975-1976 hour show went (updated for inflation, of course), 3 new players in each half-hour, the two winners going head to head, with a definite shot at the million in the bonus round.

Two problems: 1) NBC needs to have a certain amount of fluff, padding, commercial-break cliffhangers, and other crap in their game shows. That's just not possible to do with Wheel, and doing so would completely ruin the momentum. 2) What do you mean by "a definite shot at the million"? The contestant automatically plays for $1,000,000? Because I can tell you right now that the Bonus Round difficulty would spike hard and never let up on the difficulty.
Also, I personally don't have a problem with the hour-long format -- best way to do the top dollar values would be $1,000/$2,500/$3,500 in the regular games and $5,000 in the Head-To-Head Big-Money Showdown.
