This just turned up in the Nighttime Video Archive, presumably uploaded by one of the contestants, OC copy. A couple oddities, though...
* In Round 1, the $800 space is covering $750, leaving $175 in play. * The uploader labels this episode as December 31, 1984 (and as one commercial during the show mentions a "New Year's Day Sale", it certainly seems plausible enough), yet the Wiki claims that the week of December 31 was a rerun week. * In spite of the alleged December 31, 1984 airdate, the episode bears a 1985 copyright date on the Merv Griffin Enterprises card at the end. * Directed by Mark Corwin (!)

Well, a better view of that $800-$175 area than that one other episode I saw a while back. Now I don't recall seeing this episode before, but I was able to make a lucky guess to the first puzzle as soon as that apostrophe came up. As for the Round 3 puzzle, I got that with just the R's, the S's, and the T's.

I thought that the $X25 and $X75 disappeared before... I think that it's the first episode that I have seen with this kind of values.
I've also noticed that the R2 configuration had some elements that have remained until nearly these days, for example the $300-$700-$450-LaT-$800 segment, which until S28 was exactly the same, of course with the LaT after $800.

I thought that the $X25 and $X75 disappeared before... I think that it's the first episode that I have seen with this kind of values. By all rights they shouldn't have been present here. The Round 1 stretch you see of Bankrupt-$800-$175 should be Bankrupt-$750-$800, they put the $800 in the wrong place. That makes at least three known episodes with that error (Dave/Melanie/Ricky and Rita/Lynn/Jonas, both from the same time frame, being the others). I'd assume, based on that error, that those three shows were all taped the same day, but I'm not certain.
Though with regards to $175, while it was replaced in nighttime in 1984, it actually lasted in daytime all the way until the templates were recolored in September 1986 (being replaced by $500 at that point).

So they put the nighttime layout over the daytime layout. It looks so weird...

So they put the nighttime layout over the daytime layout. It looks so weird... Right, that's how it's always been with the add-on wedges. For example, the $5,000 wedge was always covering up where the $2,000 wedge was in the daytime show.

It looks like it was from 12/31/84... The Wednesday and Thursday dates for the Macy's sale would have meant January 2 and 3, 1985. I assume they were closed on 1/1/85 (a Tuesday).
The Bradford Exchange ad mentions 12/31/84 for the date of the Gone With The Wind plate's price.
The Nissan ad states '85 models.

^ Then did Wheel jump the gun by putting a 1985 copyright date on the credits?

^ Then did Wheel jump the gun by putting a 1985 copyright date on the credits? It's happened in a few season 6 shows that have 1989 copyright dates that aired in both December 1988 and January 1989.
