Who here got a final audition for the show through video and would you care to share it here?? If not, what tips can you provide? I'm trying to get my brother that is living in Dallas to apply, but I doubt he will go the Wheelmobile they are having there on Sunday. It would be great to have a thread on video audition tapes in general though. Paging atlantagirl, MarioGS, iroc24, ten96lt, dreamoffields, and others! (Also, if you don't want to share your video publicly [though why not, it was good enough to get an audition with?!], but would allow me to use it as an example to show my brother [it will not be shared. He's not a "game show guy"], then please private message me. Thanks!)

No... That's a teacher that was getting bored while testing out green screen materials. That BTW was done with a dollar store tablecloth taped to the wall.

I might as well put my video out there.
This is a rather basic video compared to the one above. I do think this came out well; I am being sincere in what I say and I feel like I expressed what I wanted to. I just think I look too subdued. I wanted to make sure that what I presented was genuine and I didn't want to fake it, but I wish I had put some more energy in it (though I wonder if this attitude ended up helping me out).
When I sent it in September, I didn't know what to think about it, I just glad to send one out. In some respects, I'm a little surprised that this got me a final audition, but I must have done something right.
So if you wanted to know more about me, here you go:

Something interesting that I should mention... Like many, I uploaded my video on YouTube (the WOF site says their file upload limit is 500 MB but for some reason, it rejects anything over 10 MB), but marked it as Unlisted. I got my audition invite the same day I applied. I never watched it after I uploaded it. Just the other day, Kevin asked me about it, so I linked it to him and he said that the video had a view count of zero. That was a really creative video, Cori. I don't really think one needs to pull off editing or skits, though. They just want to see how genuine you are, but you still pulled that off really well. An important tip for anyone who makes a video: always mention your nearest major city so they know where to audition you. If you split your time between two different cities, be sure to mention both.

I can't find my video, but I know that it was very simple - I was standing against a wall, taking a selfie-style video. It was about 25 seconds long. I introduced myself and said how old I was, that my mom had been on the show as a three day champion during the daytime show, and that I would love to be a second generation wheel spinner. I smiled and was confident, but didn't do anything spunky or terribly enthusiastic.
Also worth noting, I submitted my video and application and didn't hear a thing from wheel until 18 months later. I thought the final audition invite was spam email at first because it is so simple and it had been so long since I had submitted my application. Also, I had forgotten to upload a headshot of myself with my application (realized just after I hit submit) and figured that they wouldn't contact me since I couldn't follow simple instructions. Thankfully, they seem to be pretty forgiving in the process.

Kevin I will try to figure out how to add mine too....think I'll need to get some help from my kid as I have mentioned my serious lack of skills on social media I received an invitation to send in a video (face of the fan) and one week later I was invited to an audition!! Twelve years ago I sent in an application online and got my spin ID. Not the usual way to get on I guess! I really think I mostly fit a "demographic" they were looking for.

I'll throw my video into the mix here. I did go to the Wheelmobile event when it came to Denver last May, but then mid-August I got a Wheel Watchers based email encouraging Denver-based contestants to apply via video, so I did. A few days after submitting the video, I got my final audition invitation. If I had to guess, I'd say my Wheelmobile experience got me to the final audition over the video, but who knows! I figured I'd try every way I could to get to the next round, so something worked! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z442-Mg5fE4

Half expected you to jump off the ledge and start repelling or something. Not off of this particular mountain! Haha! Love mountaineering & high-altitude trekking but am not as big yet into rock climbing itself.

Mine was as basic as ordering a Venti Caramel Macchiato at Starbucks. At the time (late 2012), this was when SPE launched "Face of the Fan" company wide to get fans involved in their content. One of the possible uses that they mentioned included a chance to submit a video to possibly be an extra in upcoming movies, tv shows, etc. Of course, WoF decided to utilize this feature for their contestant selection process (and decided to continue accepting videos despite FotF no longer running today). I followed the instructions to a T including suggestions on what to include in the video; such as how long I've been a fan and why I wanted to be on. While not the most visually creative, I'm sure this would serve as a good template as to content.

"Wheelies". Sounds like what would happen if you spun the Wheel so hard, forgot to let go of the peg, and then the Wheel spun you around with it.

I shot my video in one take on my phone and uploaded it to the WOF site. Too bad it didn't save. Apparently it was a gem! Got me to the finals!
