Well, that was quite a game of "Win Round 3 of Fortune".

I used to like the EXPRESS wedge but when only 1 person gets a chance at the prize puzzle ...with only one spin of the wheel, it needs to go bye-bye.
Maybe it would be different if the EXPRESS wedge wasn't in R3. Move it to R1 and it'd be better.
Poor Z...he just doesn't get the love he deserves!

So one puzzle ends up being the difference between winning the game and winning nothing? Always amazing having that happen now, isn't it? Anyway, I'm glad everyone got something tonight, making for a very interesting episode airing on Pat's 70th birthday.
...
Pat's 70 today? My goodness!

Tonight's contestants gave Pat a pretty good episode for his birthday.
Too bad the host couldn't land on $5,000 for the Final Spin; it would've given Kelly a better shot at a Million Dollar Bonus Round. But once Marc hit that Express wedge and nailed it, it was pretty much...over.
Speaking of the Final Spin, Tammy would not have won the game even if she did call the Z's; she would've won $10,850 that round and a final score of $22,100. Besides, I think the A's actually helped her a lot.
As for Marc...I can understand why he didn't go for the remaining consonants on the Express. He was nervous.
Sometimes, when one round is all it takes, it's not a good sign in the Bonus Round. Had Marc used the First Four Letters (BCDA) or called BGHO, he would've won the Fiat. CDMA isn't always the way to go.
By the way, I no-lettered the first half of the Round 1 puzzle. They use PHOTO FINISH a lot, don't they? And the lyrics in the first Toss-Up come from "Born to Be Wild". (Credit to various sources for my fun facts about puzzles.)
My rating: 7

Another one of those times they obviously wanted a Trip Puzzle type finish. All five vowels, and so many common letters. Though I'm sure they've had more egregious setups.
And remember, you don't have to PHOTO FINISH YOUR DINNER when you're eating meals ON A BUDGET. It gets kind of boring.

Aw come on, no Z call in R5? For shame.
Yeah, keep saying CAD- beginnings when you've called CDMA. It's like people think the BR letters are totally random.

Yeah, I wanted there to be a Z call in R5! Such a rare letter at such a high frequency... Why couldn't anything come of it? Even when not all letters are called, the Round 3 still pushed Marc from 0 to a winner. I thought the bonus round was "IN A BUCKET" with RSTLNE and I don't know why I couldn't get BUDGET with his picks. The puzzleboard message in the beginning was just great!
