It's getting pretty old and annoying seeing contestants get $10K+ boosts to their scores for solving a puzzle without even spinning. How would you fix it?

Last night, we watched a contestant solve a 5 figure PP for their only win in the game. It was enough for them to go the BR, which they then lost. They had no cash at the end of the day. Sadly, as pointed out in another thread, they will probably have to pay several thousand in taxes just for the "privilege" of taking the trip. The odds of them forfeiting the trip are rather high since most of us could not afford it, or at least we would not place that kind of value on a trip to Portugal. I could pay less than $2000 and probably have a nice trip there. What this means for the contestant if they forfeit is that they won the show, but will go home with nothing. Stinks does not even begin to describe it. Has this even happened before on WOF where the winner technically gets nothing because they cannot afford the taxes on noncash prizes?
I don't know if it is possible, but I would propose that the show at least foot the bill for the taxes, especially in a situation like this. Maybe the government forces the winner to pay the taxes, but if possible, would it kill WOF to pay for the taxes, especially given the low payout totals from last night's game?

Personally I would keep the Prize Puzzles just as they are. I know a lot of you are tired of $10,000+ trips offered in Prize Puzzles & last night caused those of you are tired of the five digit trips some you to want the Prize Puzzles to be retired. But let me make a point the reason why the producers offer five digit trips on Prize Puzzles is because the trips can’t always be cheap that round & it has to be a trip most contestants would love to go to. I’m not sure they actually offer a prize from a Prize Puzzle without offering the price the trip since it really wouldn’t be fair to the contestant or atleast I don’t think it would. Wheel of Fortune has had Prize Puzzles for so long now do you really think it could succeed without Prize Puzzles for those of you that do. Just think about how much significantly lower the contestants overall winnings total will be & I think it could the viewership in the long run if they did get rid of Prize Puzzles. One more thing why are a lot of you so negative to most ofthe contestants who win the five digit Prize Puzzle trips? Surely you wouldn’t be that way to them if they were members on this message board. You don’t have to agree with the five digit trips on Prize Puzzles but please don’t take it so personally on the contestant. Besides nobody knows what the trip is or how much it’s worth from the Prize Puzzle until it’s won.

They're not going to scrap it completely without a major overhaul to the rest of the game because we'd see too many four-digit winning totals otherwise.
If they're going to keep it, they could at least have a strict maximum value and maybe start offering prizes under $6,000 again like in the mid-2000's. And it's better to have it early on like in R1 to get the easy part of the game out of the way and the other contestants will know what they're up against. As it is now, there's hardly any opportunity to catch up after R3 because the puzzles will be short and they usually don't even have time for any more gameplay.

Personally, I think the Prize Puzzle should be moved to round 1 since there is nothing special going on, so that way, round 2 will still be the Mystery Round and round 3 will be the EXPRESS Round. Besides, it would be nice if they would offer something other than vacations like new furniture, jewelry, or a shopping spree, but no cars since it could damage the show's budget.
