Wow, both $10,000 wedges got picked up and lost in one spin because of forced "no spendable cash" spins. Are there any circulating copies of Season 24 or 25 episodes that are in 16:9? Seems like all of them are in 4:3 as if most stations hadn't hopped on the HD bandwagon yet.

^ There was a season 25 episode (NYC Heroes Week) that was in 16:9 (Even though Sony blocked the episode though).

Agreed. It'd probably be a miracle if we found a Season 24 episode in 16:9 (Because it's pretty obvious we won't get it in HD).

^ If GSN ever acquires Season 24, we might. Granted, when they did air two weeks of S24 shows in 2010, they were all cropped to 4:3, but I believe that was before GSN HD was a thing. Nowadays, all 16:9 shows on GSN are letterboxed on the standard channel. On GSN HD, 4:3 shows have solid bright colors on the sides as filler. But yes, I have never seen any Season 24 footage in 16:9 aside from flashback clips and retro puzzles on the show proper.
An NYC S25 show circulating in 16:9 isn't that surprising. Assuming it was uploaded by one of the contestants on that episode, they likely would have recorded it off of New York's flagship affiliate WABC, which I believe has aired Wheel in HD from the first day it was available.
Many other stations took a while to start airing Wheel in HD. It seems the majority of them weren't on board until Season 26 or 27. Others like WHP in Harrisburg didn't start airing Wheel in 16:9 until Season 33. As of S35, there seems to be at least one station somewhere in Louisiana that still airs Wheel in 4:3. A few months ago, a viewer from that area posted a picture on Wheel's Facebook page of her baby watching the show, and the image shown on the TV, which matched with the episode that aired the day it was posted, had black bars on the sides.
