Calling it right now: I'm expecting only somewhere between 50 and 60 bonus round wins this season.

Just wait until 2082, guys. Every Bonus Round will be played for $100,000 - or the Million if you have the wedge.

So basically it's "We added another $1,000 to our gimmicky Bonus Round prize! Woo Season 36!" Also gotta love that they had to qualify "cash minimum", which suggests that the cars will still generally be worth less than $36K.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the money spent on updating/replacing these "$3X,000" envelopes is taken out of the prize budget.

This is yet another sign Mr. Friedman does not care about this show as much as he used to (primarily from 1995-2008). He could be putting his budget into increasing amounts on the wheel by changing up the Toss-Up formula or by stop offering a free trip every single show. But NOPE, he chooses to continue this pointless milestone season Bonus Round cash minimum BS. He really should've stopped at $35k last season.
Also when will Sony do ANYTHING with those old episodes besides showing a random retro bonus round in each episode? Rerun or stream those classics Sony! Or stop being Vicaom-esqe in terms of copyright bullies and let us upload what episodes we have on YouTube.

This is yet another sign Mr. Friedman does not care about this show as much as he used to (primarily from 1995-2008). He could be putting his budget into [...] As much as I've said about Harry over the years (such as his seemingly having attended classes at the Mike Richards School of Game Show Budgeting, formerly the Endemol School of Game Show Budgeting), I get the feeling Sony is tying his hands somewhat. The crappy puzzles and severely limited prize pool are definitely on him, sure, but given the past few years or so he probably isn't given much of a prize budget to start each season with, so there's not much he could do to stay within budget other than bad puzzles, expensive trips, and setting Bonus Rounds up to be lost (he saved $1.1 million last season just through bonus puzzles with KAYAK in them). Also when will Sony do ANYTHING with those old episodes besides showing a random retro bonus round in each episode? Rerun or stream those classics Sony! The most likely issue, given the many clips seen during Season 30, is royalties and residuals. Their pattern of dubbing and editing said clips would seem to suggest that Sony dislikes paying the estates of those who have passed on. Another likely issue is that by putting classic Wheel online or in repeats somewhere, Sony would be inviting viewers to compare-and-contrast with the first-run shows...and some might find the latter lacking, thus tuning out. Or stop being Vicaom-esqe in terms of copyright bullies and let us upload what episodes we have on YouTube. Granted, I disagree with taking them down rather than putting ads on them, but it's Sony's right to approach Wheel uploads however they want.

Guys. C'mon. This is embarrassing.
Yes, the show is increasing its Bonus Round minimum. We get you don't like it. (I, for one, think it's pretty dumb as well.) They're probably not going to stop for a while. And we get there are other things you don't like about the show as it is right now. But guess what? You have the power to let them know that you don't like these changes (or lack thereof).
It's called "not watching."
If it really makes you THAT irrationally angry that they're continuing to pull stunts like this, then vote with your remote. Vote with your social media presences. Save yourself the time and energy. You can theorize all you want behind their motives. You think you can be a better producer than Harry, who's been in the business for longer than some of you have been alive? By all means, write to Wheel and apply for a job there. Work your way up through the ranks and then get to a point where you can be the one making these calls. Let's see how the ratings hold up then.
In the meantime, I see no reason to continue the discussion here. We know what the new season gimmick is, and I see no reason to belabor the point. We've gotten way off topic as it is.
