Guys, imagine if you could spin a gigantic Wheel on a game show that's not Wheel of Fortune and still win a fortune that's higher than any game show has ever offered. That's what will happen on Fox later this year. The title of Spin the Wheel may sound pretty generic in my opinion, but I don't know how generic it is to... spin a 40-foot Wheel for a chance to win over $20,000,000! I know it may seem hard to believe at first that I'm not making this up, but I just found out about it through various internet news articles. So it's legit. In fact, here's the Wikipedia article. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spin_the_Wheel_(game_show)

Higher than any game show has ever offered? The prosecution would like to bring up the Pepsi "Play for a Billion" challenge or DoND's $100,000,000 event celebrating the 100th anniversary of Hershey's.
Reading over the sources given in the Wikipedia article, I'm getting The Wall vibes all over again: A big "maximum" prize offered, which ends up only giving off $1-2 million at best, and I can't bash on the show too hard because it still operates under the premise of "give a lot of money and change someone's life".

You're right about those. I remember Pepsi's Billion Dollar game, but I thought it was simply an event as opposed to a game show. Same story for Deal or No Deal's Hershey event.

Now, I can certainly say that while $20,000,000 may not be the biggest prize in television history, it can still make someone the biggest winner in television history to date. Fox does have a page about the show up on their site. www.fox.com/spin-the-wheel/Earlier this year, well before the show was even picked up by Fox, an online friend told me about the game and even showed me this site filled with ideas for game shows. Just to warn you that the name for one of the other games contains a partially censored obscenity, but here is what I can imagine is a taste of what to expect from "Spin the Wheel." If I'm right, the show was originally supposed to be called "Beat the Wheel" and had a top prize of only $1,000,000. There's a small possibility that "Beat the Wheel" and "Spin the Wheel" may end up being two completely different games, but the more I learn, the more I see that possibility shrinking. A description and a trailer for what is likely the show's original name can be seen below. www.theglobalagency.tv/beat-the-wheel

Yeah, that format's pretty similar to The Wall, and it seems like this show will probably go down the same route with its contestants. Higher than any game show has ever offered? The prosecution would like to bring up the Pepsi "Play for a Billion" challenge or DoND's $100,000,000 event celebrating the 100th anniversary of Hershey's. Both of which were akin to lottery games, along with having an (obviously deliberate) extremely small chance of being won.

Here's our first look at the Wheel. http://instagram.com/p/BmeYTKOnqrx It looks like wedges with positive amounts under five digits are light blue, five-digit amounts are dark blue, six-digit amounts are green, and you can see a little bit of yellow in the bottom-left, so that's probably for seven digits. And of course, negative amounts are red.

Wow. Not what I was expecting based on what I saw in the "Beat the Wheel" link. It still looks snazzy thoe.

So, yeah, the show was a thing that aired today.
Remind me again, is this show going to be airing the same time as The Wall?

Hard to believe last night's episode was taped nearly a year ago, but finally, the wait is over, and it's not a bad show! The mixture of questions that can amount to Jeopardy!-style deductions in the early rounds, to controlling the Wheel's configuration, to the DonD-style final round, I certainly could stomach it. Too bad his partner bailed and passed on the $1.3+ million and walked with less than $200K. Of course, I doubt this will last long, but it gives us some new spins while Pat/Vanna are vacationing.

Some interesting tidbits about the show I figured out.
This is what you need to do to win the maximum of $23 million on Spin The Wheel for each spin:
Spin #1: Answer correctly, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #2: Answer correctly, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #3: Answer correctly, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #4: Answer correctly, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #5: Answer correctly, partner must double, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #6: Answer correctly, partner must double, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #7: Answer correctly, partner must double, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #8: Answer correctly, partner must double, land on $500,000 (4.17% chance) Spin #9: Pick the $2 million wedge first, answer correctly, make it only one wedge, land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #10: Land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #11: Land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #12: Land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #13: Partner must not push the button, land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #14: Partner must not push the button, land on $2 million (2.08% chance) Spin #15: Partner must not push the button, land on $2 million (4.17% chance) Spin #16: Partner must not push the button, land on $3 million (2.08% chance)
So, to do all that, not only must you answer everything correctly, not only must you and your partner do everything in this guide, you must also beat 1.55 SEPTILLION:1 odds. That's 1.55 x 10 to the 24th power.

Their new promo for this week just referred to the show as "the only wheel big enough for primetime". Is Harry just going to sit there and take that?!
