Hey All!
It's that time of year again: the kids are back in school, the weather's cooling off, the leaves are falling---and a NEW season of Wheel has debuted! For those of you who host home games, I was wondering if you guys change your rules (either one or many) to ring in a new season every year? I know TLC, and Germanname have some excellent homemade games with all sorts of cool additions. So, in addition to those two gentlemen, what other users have tweaked their home games for S36? Even if you've never replied to one of my threads before, feel free to chime in! What makes your game unique & exciting? I'll kick it off...
I've been using a custom layout (and different variations) ever since we lost the amazing layout past S30 when $500 came to rule! Here's my layout (no color scheme changes to what's on the show):
BANKRUPT/1000/650/900/600/500/700/800/550/600/700/900/500/TDV/BANKRUPT/850/500/650/700/800/LAT/750/BIG MONEY/950
R1: 1/2 MDW INS WC/2500/ 1/2 PRIZE
R2: 2000/1/2 MDW MYS INS WC/3500/ 1/2 PRIZE MYS
R3: 3000/1/2 MDW INS EXP WC/5000/ 1/2 PRIZE
R4: 4000/1/2 MDW X2 INS WC/7500/ X2 1/2
R5+: 5000 10K
The Big Money wedges offers a rotation between $5,000, $7,500, $25,000, Wild Card, Insurance Tag, or Doubling the BR amount won. The values are single only irrespective of how many letters show up in the puzzle.
The Double or Nothing round (R4) is the same: Call a correct letter and your score is doubled; call a DUD and you go Bankrupt.
I've relaxed the MDW rules because it's damn near impossible to take it to the BR (though it has been done in my home games). I treat it as a normal pick up wedge. You just have to get through the round you picked it up on without BANKRUPT, and solve the puzzle and you've automatically banked a MD Bonus Round. If you don't end up winning, then the BR is the normal $100,000 fare.
All other rules are standard, and I've kept the pick 3 bonus puzzles rule as well.
We've already have an explosive week in our new "season" at home: a player hit the X2 wedge SIX times and banked $97,000 for that round, and went onto a MDW bonus (didn't land on the spot though), and walked away with nearly $150,000!!! Even though my wheel has 6 minimum value spots, I'm glad that we haven't revealed a $36,000 envelope yet.
I'll include some pictures later on this week, but I'm very eager to see what you all have created!!
