A highlight reel from some of the "Lottery Players" games taped in February 2017. Note that there is no Prize Wedge or 1/2 Car on the Wheel, and like the 2012 edition, all of the puzzles are recycled from recent episodes. It looks like all of the participants were divided into "teams" according to their state and wore color-coded shirts. Also notice that John Lauderdale is wearing a Jeopardy! jacket.

Wasn't there a video floating around of the 2012 edition?

Yeah, a full game was uploaded by a relative of the blue contestant, but it was later blocked by Sony. I ripped it before that happened, so I have it. We also have a recap of it.

...Why aren't these aired somewhere, again?
Heck, better question - why isn't Wheel posting these Lottery Experience episodes and related footage to its YouTube channel? Having exclusive episodes you won't see on TV would no doubt get eyeballs and, importantly, ad revenue.

Because it would mean actually promoting Wheel... and we know Harry can't do that and keep pushing Jeopardy! to the forefront at the same time

I should also mention that several months ago, one of our members ( kevin) was able to get in touch with someone who got to play one of the games, a woman named Leah. She said that the games did not feature the Prize Wedge, Gift Tag, 1/2 Car, Bonus Round car, or Prize Puzzle. Leah also said that she asked the contestant coordinators if she would be allowed to apply for the actual show later on, and they seemed surprised at someone expressing interest in that. They were fairly certain (albeit not 100%) that she would still be eligible for the actual show. The 2012 version did not deviate from the show at all gameplay-wise, except for the cash bonus with the Bonus Round car being $15K instead of $5K as per the show at the time, and the Prize Wedge and Gift Tag were generic cash bonuses. The video wall showed the usual landscapes instead of the lottery logos pattern in the 2017 games. As was likely the case with the 2012 version, all of the contestants were given DVD's of their episode. The 2012 YouTube upload was letterboxed and in poor quality; it was most definitely a DVD rip.

Because it would mean actually promoting Wheel... and we know Harry can't do that and keep pushing Jeopardy! to the forefront at the same time And oh, what a surprise, the Jeopardy! YouTube channel uploaded the full All-Star Draft proceedings, which was livestreamed on Facebook. She said that the games did not feature the Prize Wedge, Gift Tag, 1/2 Car, Bonus Round car, or Prize Puzzle. Lemme get this straight - Wheel, in making these Lottery Experience shows noticeably cheaper than the 2012 ones (no real surprise there), managed to put itself closer to "no fluff, let's just play the game" than it's been in about...what, 10 years or more? Leah also said that she asked the contestant coordinators if she would be allowed to apply for the actual show later on, and they seemed surprised at someone expressing interest in that. Given that the 2012 Lottery Experience Games counted as those players' once-in-a-lifetime appearances (though admittedly said shows were near-indistinguishable from the just-wrapped Season 29), I think she was justified in asking. They were fairly certain (albeit not 100%) that she would still be eligible for the actual show. If they're gonna bar Wheel 2000 players (who played for far less, including a guaranteed $0 cash) from appearing on the main series, I think they should bar these Lottery Experience players as well for consistency. That, or just cut down the ban to "play-for-cash nighttime episodes only, excluding Lottery Experience Games".

what is it lottery experience? Thanks In 2011 and 2016, several states put out a Wheel-themed lottery ticket. Tickets that didn't award any money could be entered online into a sweepstakes in which some winners from each participating state would win a trip to LA to participate on a non-broadcast "Lottery Experience" version of Wheel for mostly the same stakes as regular show contestants.

This just looks a lot like the show, except that you don't have to pass a qualifying test and that there's a portion where everyone is guaranteed a wedge, and honestly, makes me yearn for The Big Spin. If indeed these players are barred from the real show, I'd wish GSN would air these since they look to be full episode length. At least if they were barred, they still were on the actual set, had Pat & Vanna, and didn't have any stunts or educational lessons after each puzzle.

If indeed these players are barred from the real show, I'd wish GSN would air these since they look to be full episode length. Although it was a full game that was played, the leaked 2012 game showed us that: - The Wheel spins were not shortened by the editors - "Dead air" during contestants' turns were not snipped out - The Wheel spinning sounds were not time-shifted to start before Vanna finishes walking - It was implied that every game would have Round 4 begin with the Final Spin since Pat did not say "Time is running out" during the spiel - A Speed-Up Round null cycle was left intact I don't have my copy on me now, but I'm fairly certain the game lasted longer than the 18-19 minutes it does now when you take out all the plugs.
