I assumed that the 2008 Jeopardy theme song was still used in 2018, But maybe they will changed a new Jeopardy theme song in 2019

...Okay?
Please stop posting threads about Jeopardy! or Wheel theme music starting with the words “I assumed”.

I was going to make a post regarding Jeopardy! possibly refreshing its theme and think music in 2019 now that it's less than a week away. But since this thread was already started, I decided to contribute. As we know, sister show Wheel of Fortune introduced its current music package almost two years ago (midway into its 34th Season) as the rights for the 2006/2007 music cues expired at the end of the calendar year 2016. Previously, either show would debut new music at the start of the new season, but rolling out new cues mid-season doesn't seem anything new as it has been done before twice (aside from the current WoF music). Jeopardy! introduced the 2001-2008 theme music in February 2001 when celebrity episodes and the International Tournament were held in Las Vegas, and was then put permanently into use on April 23, 2001. Wheel debuted its 2006-2016 music package at the beginning of Season 24, but initially a few Steve Kaplan cues from the 2002 package were retained: toss-up, final spin, speed-up, bonus round cues. However in February 2007, they were replaced with new cues, most of which continued to be used until December 30, 2016.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jeopardy! retires the current music package at the end of this year and rolls out a new one at the start of next year. What may happen is a new package being introduced on December 31, 2018 or January 7, 2019. That is if SPT continues retiring music packages once their rights expire at the end of the calendar year. I would like to find out from those who recently attended a Jeopardy! taping about whether there is a new music package on its way.
