Reading some articles about contestant experiences on the show, it seems like that contestant attire has been amended over the years to something that's more conservatively dressed, especially for the women. For example, there's a policy where tattoos are covered up with makeup. Not too long ago, there was a contestant named Sarah that had a lot of them visible, and of course nowadays, they're aiming after that clean cut, Middle America look. A lot of players have a simple two-piece look with uniform colors, as opposed to patterns (Watch some of those '80s/early '90s episodes, and you'll see some crazy patterns on some of the players!) I've also noticed less jewelry compared to even just several years ago, where it wasn't uncommon to see large earrings or necklaces, with rings and small earrings pretty much the only thing you'll see nowadays. In fact, I remember one woman's earring falling onto the Wheel back in the '90s. Male contestants have more or less been pretty consistent with a few minor changes. I'll bet Jeopardy! is similar in this matter. This is in contrast to shows like TPIR (about as casual as they come) and LMAD, with its "every day is Halloween"-type dress. Source for some of the observations I've found from an upcoming contestant: www.winchestersun.com/2019/03/07/24860/Any other observations you've noticed regarding the attire, not just on Wheel but on other shows?

I notice that even though the show asks you not to wear solid black, white, or red contestants often do. Last night the guy was in a solid black button up dress shirt.
