Hello! I am so excited I found this forum! My scheduled taping is coming up soon and I've gained a lot of great insight from reading the various posts on here, esp the bonus round tips.
However, I'd like to hear more tips for playing the competition rounds. Any advice, comments, or cautionary tales are more than welcome!
Overall, I'm super excited for the opportunity!

All I can say is that there is no guarantee on going to the bonus round. You could end up playing against someone that is better than you, which was the case for me. For me, I always try to call a consonant that appears only once and take my chances with the Mystery wedge, although it is ideal to go for it if your opponent is in the lead. Just enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, be yourself, and remember to concentrate on the puzzles, along with the used letter board. Besides, you do not want to lose an "I" for not paying attention.

Good luck. I always told my husband that if you’re next to s “smartie” especially with good luck on the Wheel, that it can be tough. I was next to a smartie, but then his luck changed & mine did too for the better. Do what the coordinators tell you, which is focus on the puzzle & used letter board, don’t look at the Wheel much, as they’ll tell you what you landed on. Also, buying vowels does help as there are vowels in almost every word, except my & by.... my friends tell me they saw I was laser focused, just looking at the puzzle all the time. Absolutely Enjoy the ride, the whole day....
