I know everyone's focusing on how our bad timing with the 100k showing up is continuing to unprecedented levels, and that's a fair thing to focus on, but this bonus puzzle, for the third time this week, was ATROCIOUS. Event is not usually a category we've had a problem with being too generic, but "affair" is definitely too generic for the category in my opinion. I actually wouldn't have minded this puzzle as a "thing" - if that happened, I would be just saying "that's what she gets for picking thing" right now. But as it is, we have deceptive category on top of an impenetrable "glitzy" top word on top of a difficult bottom word - again, layers of difficulty. When a normally pretty good player at home such as myself is shaking his head after the puzzle saying "wow, I had no chance ever of getting that", something is wrong.
Is it not enough that our contestant category "choices" are 2/3 generic every day now? We don't need to start making the actual puzzles themselves more and more generic to get losses, too. The bonus round shouldn't be "figure out whatever vague word the producers are thinking of today".

Given what it says on the taping order page, I guess April 15-19 in Bonus Land will either be poor quality like this, or it will go the other way and lead us to a 4 or 5 win week. I don't know if they'd follow such a bad week of puzzles with just an average Bonus Round week.

Another $100K loss!!! Will we ever get a grand prize win again or is the show's budget that tight? The budget must be that tight. Hence why they stopped the 5k every day. Maybe they shouldn't give away such expensive trips. |

It just depends on how your brain is working at the time, I called out Glitzy affair at home, but other days I miss half the ones I should know....
