Ooh, nice closeups. One thing that doesn't really make sense to me is that they retired Surprise in 1998, yet the message from Terry includes "2004 - 2010" and the description says it was "one of the prizes she worked on". Still, I can see prize sponsors not really liking Surprise for the reasons mentioned, though it did stick around for six years. (The "another Wedge" mentioned by the seller was a second Wheel Prize in Round 3.)

I'd rather go Mario's route and learn to make a decent replica.

The auction ended about twenty minutes ago as I type this up. I knew my chances were slim enough to begin with, but I'm glad I tried as the auction drew to a close. Unfortunately, all my bids were a bit too low to even be entered. After a tense bidding war, the wedge went for $606 plus shipping.
I had plans to "Surprise" you guys here and at Instagram had I won it by saying nothing until it arrived safely, but I congratulate the winner nonetheless. Who knows? Maybe the winner's a member here.
With all that said, I thank you, Robert, for letting us know about it.
