I got a few ideas too:
1) Eliminate the prize puzzle. Have a trip or other prize added to the wheel in each round instead.
2) Toss ups should happen only twice. First round is for $2500 (added to the bank for that round) and Fourth round is for $5000 (same as the first round rules). I don't see the current point of having the $1,000 toss up when someone gets that for just being there anyways.
3) Round 1 and 2 minimum is $250, maximum is $2,500. Round 3 minimum is $500, maximum is $5,000. Round 4 and beyond has a minimum of $1,000 with a maximum of $10,000. I would also eliminate adding $1,000 to the speed up with these wheel amounts.
4) Bonus Round = No weird $37,000 amounts. Here is how I would break this down. I would actually bring back the envelope bonus round but there are 16 envelopes in this one. Spell out Wheel of Fortune (with a space between each word). 4 envelopes have $25,000 in cash, 4 envelopes have a luxury car ($40-50,000 range), 4 have $50,000 in cash, 3 have $100,000 in cash and 1 has $250,000 cash. If a contestant sweeps the game (i.e. wins both toss ups and solves every puzzle), then 1 of the $25,000 wedges is turned into $1,000,000.
5) With the bonus round rules I have in place, I would also eliminate the Million Dollar Wedge, half car tags, and the cheap $1,000 gift tags.
6) I would bring back a variation of Jackpot. It starts in Round 1 at $0 and money/prizes lost from Bankrupt go into that. A person who lands on it and solves immediately claims it.
Overall, I would attempt to inject some money throughout the show while removing the near impossible or the absurd to win or achieve.

Here's my predictions. Either Harry gets fired, the show mercifully gets cancelled like Millionaire just did or you all will finally realize that the show has sucked for years and stop watching and end the torture.

WOF's ratings are four times what Millionaire gets, WOF would have to lose 75% of their ratings probably to be in danger of being cancelled, and I doubt that will happen for a while. Harry Friedman and Pat are in the 70s, so they could retire in the fairly near future.

Here's my predictions. [...] you all will finally realize that the show has sucked for years and stop watching and end the torture. No disagreement on the show sucking, but there's a few issues with this: * Even if 100% of BAV members stop watching the show it'd barely move the ratings any, if at all. * This is a Wheel fan forum/discussion site, so no longer talking about the first-run shows would stifle discussion something fierce. * What kind of message would us boycotting the show send? The show's staff knows about BAV, but our myriad of suggestions and criticisms haven't changed much of anything with the show.

I got an idea what changes the show can bring. They could do a round called the Mega Jackpot round when it starts off with $5,000 and the Jackpot keeps growing every night until it is won like a contestant winning $25,000 after he/she lands on the $3500 wedge. When it’s won it goes back to $5,000 just like Mega Millions and Powerball. I thought of that because I read some people miss the Jackpot round that ran from 1996-2013.
I remember during Season 25 they had the Big Money Round and it only lasted for one season. During the 3rd round the Big Money Wedge shuffles randomly every spin. It could be a $5,000, $7,500 and even $25,000. Sometimes it was a Lose a Turn or Bankrupt. I feel like the show could use that.

I decided it's a good time to discuss possibilities for next season now that we're in the last month of Season 36. So far, the only change I'm aware of is the increase of the smallest bonus round prize amount to $37K. But I also think they'll change the title card as well. Some changes I would like to see: - bring back returning champions to make the show more competitive. At least have champions win 5 games and retire undefeated. Jeopardy overtook Wheel in ratings as of recently because of James Holzhauer's historic run. - hold a Tournament of Champions, Teen Tournament, College Championship, and Teachers Tournament - have prize puzzles occur just once a week - during tournaments, no prize wedges or prize puzzles Nope that will not be granted, it has too many budget problems to bring back returning champions and cap them to 5 games and retire them undefeated. As long as Harry controls the program, that will not be done because they don't want another James where the show will spend time rigged in that players favor with the game over for the other contestants. Sony and CBS who syndicate the show for most NBC stations also do not want that as it breaks tape order, and takes away Friedman/the productions ability to tape how they desire to tape because than that preaches blind obedience to the network. Tournaments they also do not want as again they are riddled with too much going on as it is, I would say maybe bring within reason the my favorite teacher week into 2019 and do a kids week. No and again as long as Harry runs the ship, prize puzzles will be ran 5 days a week, there is nothing we can do and we should give up while we can. You are taking away from play value if you remove both, and as unfortunately the Friedman administration values both too much we are required to take the program as it is presented.

Honestly, aside from $37,000 and those “Nintendo Hard” bonus puzzles, I think everything will stay the same.

THey usually do one minor format change every season, this past season is one of the few they didn't.

After watching the premiere of FOX's Spin The Wheel, I can only do wonders by seeing how a Wheel can change itself digitally over the course of the show, and even though I'm not ready for questions yet on our Wheel, having little things like a new configuration after the Final Spin and the return of varied layouts by round could really work to its advantage, and since the Puzzleboard went electronic 22 years ago, why not do it again for the Wheel itself? After all, the scoreboard displays have been electronic since 2002, so I'd think that it could have been upgraded years ago. The PYL franchise since Whammy! also the made the most of its set upgrade, and you can emulate the classic colors/fonts well, and the Wheel itself could have cool effects when a certain space is landed on, like a sparkly blue for $2500, sparkly white for $5000, or black for Bankrupt.
I feel that for WoF to thrive and advance, the Wheel itself needs to be electronically upgraded. Yes, we'll miss the old cardboard wedges, but it needs to get with the times more. We're about to enter a new decade, so such an upgrade would really be needed.

For an electronic Wheel, it could be a transparent layout on top of an adjustable blank wheel. I think that's what they did for Australia in 2008, with the BANKRUPT completely opaque.

I suspect there won't be any trips to the Dominican Republic on Wheel or Price or Deal for the first part of the season at least due to tourists recently getting sick there

I suspect there won't be any trips to the Dominican Republic on Wheel or Price or Deal for the first part of the season at least due to tourists recently getting sick there Monday's episode of Price got unexpectedly pulled and replaced with a rerun, likely because the episode featured a trip to DR. Here are all the episodes from Seasons 35 and 36 of Wheel that offered DR trips. We'll have to see if they bounce around choosing those episodes for reruns, or adding an explanatory caption like they did with a Puerto Rico trip that was given away on a show that aired shortly after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Season 35: 10/06/2017 (currently the only episode from its week that has not yet reran) 10/13/2017 (no episodes from this week reran as of yet) 10/26/2017 (not yet rerun; probably won't because Pat's birthday is mentioned) 11/03/2017 (Halloween week; no episodes from this week reran) 11/28/2017 (already reran 05/25/2019) 12/12/2017 (Secret Santa episode; cannot rerun) 01/18/2018 (already reran 06/14/2018) 01/30/2018 (already reran 06/26/2018) 02/22/2018 (already reran 08/02/2018) 04/04/2018 (not yet rerun) 04/24/2018 (already reran 07/17/2018) 05/31/2018 (already reran 03/23/2019) Season 36: 10/01/2018 10/11/2018 10/25/2018 01/24/2019 03/19/2019 12 trips to DR in Season 35, and only 5 in Season 36, and none of those five episodes are slated to re-air within the next few weeks.

Just an idea: I'd like to see a little more variety in the wheel amounts, probably make the $500 - $900 amounts in increments of $20, then add in a few four-figure amounts (like a few $1,000, $1,500, and $2,000 wedges). You can up the price of vowels to make up the difference.

The bonus round minimum increases to $37,000. The show continues to feel cheap as fuck.
What? This is a predictions thread, not a "what you want the show to do" thread.

My predictions:
Harry, Jim, Pat, and Vanna are still around. The bonus round minimum is now $37,000. There will barely be any changes to the show, like with season 36.

One change I wish could be incorporated is allowing us, the viewing public, to see the used letter board. It would be handy especially if tuning in during the middle of a round, but also useful if watching the entire show as well. I suppose one could use a pencil and paper to keep track, but it would be a nice thing to see anyway.
I also wish they could use the old red, yellow & blue backdrops to have up there what each player's current winnings are, rather than just show it once or maybe twice at the top of the screen.
Lastly, as many of us have wanted for years, maybe have a couple of other 4 digit amounts on the wheel during the $5,000 round at least...

I wonder if a producer half the age(Mike Richards) of Pat and Alex coming into Wheel and J! next year will convince them to retire at the end of this season.

Considering they’ve all three (Pat, Vanna, and Alex) have signed contracts through 2022, yeah, that’s not gonna happen.

Streaks of wrong letters are almost-always edited out nowadays, so we don’t always see every letter that gets called.
