The last first run show either airs May 24th or May 31st. Today's show was episode 165, I don't remember if they do 170 or 175 episodes a year. Maybe Chris Harrison will be considered as at least a temp host for Jeopardy! if one becomes needed. The 20th anniversary of the ABC primetme BAM premiere is AUgust 16th. The syndicated run of Millionaire ran 17 years; only the current run of Feud(20 years), WOF, and J! have run longer among syndicated game shows. On network TV, only the original CBS run of What's My Line at 17.5 years and the current run of TPIR have lasted longer. Daytime WOF running 16 years and change from 1975-91 on NBC and CBS(not counting a two week gap from the move from NBC to CBS in Summer 1989), is in second place among network game show runs. |

Eugene Byon said on Twitter that his episode, part of a Second CHance week, airs on 5/29, and on Facebook said its the third to last episode of the season, so the last show of the season and first-run show of the series is May 31st. 25 Words or Less premieres as a regular series this Fall, presumably on September 9th or 16th. It may replace Millionaire on some stations.

We all knew the show was on its last legs.
I'm sad to see it go but also not surprised. It was just way too stale and penny-pinching with a huge lack of six-figure winners, plus nobody making it to the million dollar question since Cedric with the shuffle rules even though they keep trying to hype the possibility as much as they can.
That being said, this show did get some things right that I wish Wheel would: celebrity weeks, "second chance" weeks, and material actually referencing the current decade (though a little too much; I could do without every other question having the words "in 2018").
Millionaire also deserves credit for having a same-sex couple on the show as a team. Don't believe any other game show has done that before, and I doubt Wheel will anytime soon.

Bumping because syndie Millionaire has quietly risen from the dead... well, sort of. In light of recent events, syndicators are scrambling to pull police shows like Cops, Live PD: Police Patrol, and Sheriffs: El Dorado County off the airwaves, all of which were recently cancelled in first-run. To help stations quickly fill the voids left by these shows, Disney, which now owns the syndication rights for Cops thanks to its acquisition of FOX, has begun offering reruns of the final season of Millionaire as a replacement for police shows, up to two episodes every weekday. This new run has also been acquired by The CW Plus, what is considered the national CW lineup. Nielsen markets ranked #100 or lower carry The CW Plus instead of a "proper" CW affiliate like bigger markets where they add their own choice of local shows, syndies, and local news. Millionaire was added to The CW Plus this past Monday night, at 12:00 and 12:30 AM local time (11:00/11:30 PM in Alaska), replacing two episodes of Live PD: Police Patrol. CW has made no acknowledgement of this whatsoever. The primary run began at the season premiere (9/10/18) and is continuing in order of original airdate. The secondary run began at the 2/25/19 episode and continues in order from there. Special thanks goes to genius2751 for catching it on KOFY San Francisco and giving me information on what episodes were airing, since all TV listings of the show are only generic for now. For Top 100 markets that don't have a CW Plus affiliate, some markets have already begun airing Millionaire to replace a police show (or another show that has since moved to replace one), while several others are adding it starting next week. The syndication run for Live PD: Police Patrol officially ends this week, while Cops does not appear to have an end date set just yet. Except where noted, the show airs every weekday, or Tuesday-Saturday if the time slot is after midnight but before 4:00 AM local time. ^ Several more top markets have added Millionaire to their listings. I updated the chart above. Check it out. Also, the season is actually not airing in order. The primary run jumped to the week of 10/8/18 this week, and starting July 6, it will jump to 4/8/19 while the secondary run jumps back to the season premiere.

Bumping because the Season 17 reruns are apparently ending after next week. The series finale week is airing August 23-27, then stations are replacing it with other shows. WLNY is replacing it with encores of Entertainment Tonight.
