Quite honestly, I kinda feel a little infuriated from watching game shows right now (especially Wheel of Fortune). It’s more frustrating than actually entertaining to me. As of right now, I will take a break from them. If you need me, then I’ll be at this site: arevieweingsite.home.blog/Maybe I’ll return when the new season starts… BTW, I'll still participate in the DPG Puzzle Series.

I also got burnt out from Wheel myself, and I would say it's because of the bonus round losses. Not just that, I've also found Jeopardy! more entertaining than Wheel in recent days, especially during James Holzhauer's historic run. And even after his streak ended, I've still found Jeopardy! to be more entertaining.

I burnt out after Season 30 and have never looked back! I got burnt out during Season 28. Granted, there's been some good moments since then and I'm always happy when someone from BAV makes it on (or joins us afterward), but it feels like Wheel's gotten progressively worse overall in the past eight years. (Also, shouldn't this be in Buying Your Time?)

But Family Feud in that time has turned into Unfamily Feud And it's relevance has skyrocketed as a result thanks to catering to today's young demographic and getting a ton of promotion on YouTube and other social media. And its surge in popularity resulted in ABC giving it another chance in primetime after its failed attempt on NBC. Meanwhile, Wheel is still waiting in the wings for its chance at primetime that will probably never come with the current regime. Wheel still has a reputation as "an old people show" and "Not Jeopardy!, the other one..." because they have been doing nothing to give them attention aside from the free publicity from the occasional viral missolve. It is not "relevant" to today's generation unless their mother or grandmother is still a faithful viewer, partially because they refuse to change in some regards, such as hardly ever doing puzzles relevant to culture of the 2010's outside of a few Movie Titles. The current show is a turn-off to many game show fans because of how the show isn't "exciting" anymore due to one-and-done contestants, the game's format being horribly imbalanced for years, and ridiculously-difficult Bonus Rounds. During James Mania, I kept trying to remind people that Wheel is still a show, only for most of them to say, "When was the last time anything exciting ever happened on Wheel of Fortune?" "Oh, look. The lady at yellow just won an $11,000 trip to Maui. Guess she's going to the Bonus Round... (10 minutes later) Oh, look. She didn't win the Bonus Round because she doesn't know that the show loves to sneak in W's and K's."

It is not "relevant" to today's generation [...] partially because they refuse to change in some regards, such as hardly ever doing puzzles relevant to culture of the 2010's outside of a few Movie Titles. Whereas Jeopardy! has happily referenced memes and other events from the past decade or so (heck, they once had a clue about 4chan), which is particularly noticeable given the significant staff overlap between the two shows. "When was the last time anything exciting ever happened on Wheel of Fortune?" Not during the past six weeks, I know that much.

She didn't win the Bonus Round because she doesn't know that the show loves to sneak in W's and K's." This is another reason I find Jeopardy! more entertaining than Wheel. The latter doesn't have returning champions and doesn't feel as competitive. Before 2003, the former implemented a 5-day limit for returning champions; they would retire undefeated after winning their fifth game. But then the 5-day limit was lifted during the 20th Season, and Ken Jennings would go on to become the winningest contestant with 74 games won.

Honestly, I haven't watched Wheel regularly since 2007-2008. Most of it's because I was in college at the time and didn't have time to watch Wheel, but in recent years, the few episodes I've seen have just not impressed me. I don't know if it's because it doesn't have the same excitement as I did when I was younger or what (I was 18/19 when I stopped watching regularly).
