As for Great American Cities, it is confirmed that Monday's episode will salute Boston and Tuesday's will salute Chicago. Hopefully Thursday's is not Denver or Philadelphia, as Thursday's episode will be pre-empted in those two cities. At least they knew not to put the Boston episode on Friday or a Nashville episode on Tuesday, if this includes either of the two GAC's from Season 36. The pattern is on track to be the same as Season 35's edition: Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Diego, Philadelphia, then Denver for the America's Game episode. Says today will be Washington DC Boston is most definitely tonight. One station just promoted a contestant from tonight named Jared. According to someone else who taped for this week, that's the Boston/Monday episode.

TV listings have finally swapped Shopping Spree and Safe Travels.
Contestants for the South Florida week have been contacted today, so that week will probably tape December 5 or 6.

Hi Mario.
Thanks for all of your info! I know at the final auditions in South Florida they said if we were selected for the taping of South Florida week, we would likely hear back before the two weeks from that date. I wasn’t too optimistic I’d be picked, and wasn’t contacted. How were those people contacted do you know? Phone call? Just curious. Still keeping fingers crossed for some kind of miracle but hopes fading fast hehe.
Thanks again!

So it’s confirmed that Shopping Spree will air on Thanksgiving week. Interesting...probably because of Black Friday.

Not bad, but W-F was officially Denver, Nashville, San Diego.

Why no Philly? What is going to be the sixth episode? Please be Philly.

Okay. I can now confirm that there were indeed tapings on November 22. It was for Weekend Getaways, airing January 6-10. The generic set was used. Vanna hosted. To help calm her nerves, there was no audience except for the contestants and their guests. As for who revealed the letters, that detail is being kept under strict confidentiality, so much that I don’t even know who it is, but what I can confirm is that... It is not Susan Stafford.

Just know who they got is absolutely outstanding, really great choice. I’ve likewise been sworn to secrecy. But I’d be surprised if there is anyone who doesn’t like the pick. That’s how big of a slam dunk this choice was.
Can’t even really give hints so don’t ask.

oh my god they got chuck woolery /s
Okay back to reality, this is quite a big deal right? Shouldn't there be massive press about it? I'm surprised they're not shouting it from the rooftops screaming how [blank] is gonna fill in for Vanna. I mean this is a really big deal and I haven't seen that much press on this.

Which strikes me as odd, since unless I'm mistaken wasn't there a studio audience on her two prior taping days? There was not. Vanna taped the two Secret Santa weeks in reverse order. The second week taped when it was supposed to - on Friday, November 8. Contestants asked to tape Thursday, November 7 for the first week were told that their taping had been moved to Monday the 11th. It is not known if Wheel paid to let non-local contestants stay in LA through Monday night, but I expect we will see many LA locals this week. Vanna's first taped episode as host will air next Monday, so she may seem a bit more nervous next week compared to this week. None of Vanna's episodes will have a full audience other than the taping's other contestants and their guests (who, for legal reasons, are seated at completely opposite ends of the audience), so the studio will be nearly empty by Friday. Contestants who have already taped are only allowed to stay through the end of that session, so Mon-Wed contestants probably would not have been able to stay and watch Thu-Fri. Expect tons of canned applause and groan sounds and zero reactions to big spins when Vanna is hosting, the one downside to all this.

On last night's episode, the puzzle board was automated, though someone in a Disney character cost was standing in front of it and gestured with his/her hands to reveal the puzzle for each round. The letters just popped in automatically. I'm wondering if that'll be the case with every show where Vanna hosted, or is someone touching the letters on the puzzle board for Weekend Getaways?
Anyways after watching last night's episode, I thought to myself "TPTB could've had Alex Trebek sub for Pat instead of having Vanna hosting"; but more likely than not he has been busy taping Jeopardy! and couldn't fill in.
