Hey Guys,
Since Sony has the TV rights to both Wheel and Jeopardy, do you guys think that older special eps of Wheel could make their way to Netflix? I have an account and was pleasantly surprised to see some classic Jeopardy! episodes on Netflix. They have the season opener for every season 2-32, and their "Season 1" opener actually is the rare pilot--the actual S1 opener can be found on a J! DVD that came out after Ken Jennings' historic run.
If you could see Wheel having some special episodes added to Netflix, which ones would you want to see?
Personally, I'd love to see some of their 97 road shows in San Francisco--this was the first time I ever went to a Wheel taping as a kid.

their "Season 1" opener actually is the rare pilot More specifically, it's Pilot #2, taped in early 1984. Pilot #1 was taped in September 1983 on an entirely different set, used the 1978 theme and the 1978 board values ($25 to $125 in J!, $50 to $250 in DJ!) As for Wheel on Netflix, I see a 0% chance of it happening while the show is in first-run and while Harry is still in charge.

The Jeopardy! acquisition was yet another kick in the face to Wheel fans. Wheel will never be added because Sony and Netflix assume people don't care about the show enough to stream it, at least not people young enough to know what Netflix is (heck, the word NETFLIX has never even been used in a Wheel puzzle and we're in 2019!!).
And then there's the stubbornness with previous music cues. If they're not even willing to let a 20-year-old, 4-second fanfare to appear on the airwaves in a brief retrospective, they surely won't want to spend the money to clear a full episode featuring music made by anyone other than John Hoke.
It's sad that hardly anyone cares about Wheel's inferiority complex with its sister show, and when those of us who do complain about it, we either get nothing but arguments of why it's justified, or we just get shut up altogether (Buzzerblog's Facebook page deleted my comment where I said "And still no Wheel of Fortune...").

THey could put more recent episodes of WOF for Netflix, like GSN did.

I'd love to see Wheel on Netflix (or, for that matter, any streaming service of quality - Netflix, Crackle, Amazon Video, etc.) as well, but Robert hit it on the head. The fact that Jeopardy! is still using Merv's theme tune in some form or another may explain why there's classic episodes on Netflix to begin with, whereas Wheel has gone out of its way to distance itself from Merv's compositions. THey could put more recent episodes of WOF for Netflix, like GSN did. They could, yeah, but even then you'd still have a double standard - "Why does one show get older episodes on Netflix but not the other?"
