Hello! I was directed to BAV by MarioGS's reddit thread and subsequent show report. I lurked this site for a few weeks after that and recently heard that I passed the final audition phase and will be on Wheel this season!
I wish I could say I have been dedicating my life to the goal of getting on WoF and am finally reaping the dividends but my story is a little more boring than that. I've had the sort-of goal/pipe dream of getting on for a few years if the stars ever aligned, and align they absolutely did when I went from a hometown Wheelmobile event (getting called onstage for one of the last games of the day!) to secondary audition 7 months later (I was sure I had been passed on at this point) to not getting called to stay behind at that audition and making the show anyway! The luck of some jerks, am I right?
I wanted to thank you guys for the tips I've been able to glean so far, most notably "emote and clap like a maniac" for the audition phase which I'm pretty sure amounted to at least 75% of why I was successful. Going through bonus puzzles in the episode recaps is also really helpful and is giving me more confidence for my appearance. I'm better than the average bear playing at home but I'm not a savant like some of you so I'll need all the help I can get on that front!
Anyway, I'm really excited to join the boards and hopefully cement another BAV claim to the throne when I finally get my turn at the wheel! Thanks to MarioGS and the rest of you all for the cool Wheel haven you've built together.
