This is an analysis of total and average winnings of every season of Wheel to date since 24, with past seasons also adjusted for inflation using data.bls.gov/cgi-bin .
Season 32 was the best performing season in regards of winnings, with a noticeable decline in the seasons that followed it. The decline looks even worse when accounting for inflation.
Season 27 had the best Bonus Round win rate in this span. Season 36 is the lowest, and likely the lowest of the syndicated series as a whole. Season 36's total winnings also gave us the lowest season total since Season 29.
Although there are obvious peaks in the seasons with the million dollar wins (26, 30, 32), the average amount of money given away per show has managed to remain mostly the same ($46-50K) for the entire HD era.
