The audition itself uses puzzles from early episodes of a recent season (often the current one or the one prior), so watching the show and its reruns will definitely help. As for the test, the puzzles are more straightforward and original, and tend to vary as there are multiple versions of the test. I prefer those puzzles not be discussed publicly because we know that many people come here for audition advice, and we don't want to ruin the integrity of the test.

Very good to know that watching recent reruns will help!
I have my second round of auditions for the show next week. And I just got a feelin'!
Can anyone give us a general breakdown of how it will go? For example, what specific events will take place? What will they have us do, specifically?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

You can search these boards for “audition” to get lots of ideas. Mine was like this: you’ll sit down & they make a name chart so that they can call everyone randomly. To make sure your voice carries, sit in the front, you’ll be called at random to quickly stand, call out a letter until you miss or they say you’re done with your turn. They make sure to give everyone at least one chance. Then the written test, 15 puzzles, 5 minutes. Then if they haven’t made a decision about you, they’ll ask you to stay. These people will come up in groups of 5, pretend to spin the wheel & call out letters. They also had each of us introduce ours for 30 seconds during this part.
My advice, be enthusiastic, clap even for yourself! Speak loudly & clearly. Stay engaged even when not your turn, watch & clap for others, you never know when they might call your name again. Follow directions exactly, they want people who will take direction. if they say to buy a vowel when their wheel lands on Free Play, then do exactly that. Be excited, happy, not goofy or crazy. Have a blast & good luck

In 1987, both an issue of TV Guide the and WOF paperback book by Sams and Shook gave puzzles from a sample test, and only a few consonants were given for each puzzle, and no vowels. If multiple consonants were in the puzzle, they didn't always show all appearances on the consonant. Wonder if they still do that?
