Hi guys!
I submitted a video to become a contestant and received an email inviting me to an audition the very next day. They even asked if I wanted to bring along a partner to try out for "Girlfriend Getaway," so I am bringing my best friend (who is an excellent player and strategist and a huge fan). I have watched an old Facebook live video at an audition and read a ton of threads here about individual auditions, but do you have any specific advice for a team trying out? Do we solve the puzzle together or let one person speak? Take turns calling out letters? I know in the audition they like to keep the game moving, but in real life team play, partners are allowed to confer before making a selection. Do they allow that at the audition?
Thank you all for the time you have put in to this board! So helpful!

Welcome to the boards! I attended a final audition back in March of this year. I auditioned alone, but here's what I noticed in regards to teams auditioning. From my observations, when you audition as a team, you will be called up individually to play a puzzle (or two). This is the round before a written test is given out. I was asked to stay after the written test for another round of auditions, and some teams were asked to stay, too. When we were playing more intensive rounds, that's when the teams had to play (and work) together. The contestant coordinators wanted to see the teams working together by asking one team member to pretend to spin the wheel, the other to call a letter, and then vice versa. One team member could not do all the grunt work. Also, we had to do interviews. When teams were interviewed, they wanted to know your team's backstory. (How you met, how long you've been friends, married, etc.) Please refer to this thread for more information about final auditions. There's a small section about teams auditioning in this thread, too. buyavowel.boards.net/thread/5209/final-auditionGood luck to you and your friend at the final audition! - acwof

At my final audition in 2018 there were a few teams, mainly husband/wife. I remember when they chatted with us after the break, for 1 couple, they had to ask the wife to let her husband get a word in since she was doing all the talking. So I was surprised to see them on the show 2 months later, go figure! My advice would be to make sure neither of you dominates the other, you’re not competing against each other. Good luck, above all, follow their direction, be enthusiastic for everyone and have a blast.

Thanks for the help guys. I clapped so much and so hard I had a sore shoulder and irritated the nerve complex in my arm, I was sore for a couple of days! Fingers crossed that we get a letter in a couple of weeks.
